In his annual shareholder letter, JP Morgan CEO Jamie Dimon weighs in on the emissions reductions power of natural gas and the "enormous naivety" of pausing U.S. LNG exports: "The projects were delayed for mainly political reasons - to pacify those who believe that gas is bad and that oil and gas projects should be stopped. This is not only wrong but also enormously naïve. One of the best ways to reduce CO2 for the next few decades is to use gas to replace coal. When oil and gas prices skyrocketed last winter, nations around the world...started to turn back to their coal plants. This highlights the importance of safe, secure, and affordable energy. Second, the export of LNG is a great economic boon for the Untied States. But most important is the realpolitik goal: Our allied nations that need secure and affordable energy resources, including critical nations like Japan, Korea and most of our European allies, would like to be able to depend on the United States for energy. This now puts them in a difficult position - they may have to look elsewhere for such supplies, turning to Iran, Qatar, the UAE or maybe even Russia."

The seawater desalination process includes several essential steps to ensure the efficiency and durability of the installation. Here's a description of these steps: 1. **Installation of a seawater intake**: An intake structure is constructed at a depth ranging between -8 and -16 meters to capture seawater. 2. **Design of a robust intake head**: This intake head is designed to withstand currents and swell. It is also designed never to come into contact with air, regardless of swell conditions. 3. **Transport via pipeline**: Seawater is conveyed through pipelines resistant to saline corrosion and both internal and external pressures. During the construction phase, these pipelines are temporarily stabilized with concrete rings. 4. **Protection of the pipeline**: The pipeline is either buried in a trench or housed in a tunnel to prevent any damage. 5. **Construction of a reception well**: A well is planned to house the necessary pumps for water extraction. 6. **Pumping to a storage reservoir**: The captured seawater is then pumped to a storage reservoir where it will be treated.
