I wish I figured this out sooner when I was in college - It's not that hard to stand out. Most schools have thousands, or tens-of-thousands of students. And most of them go to class (sometimes), clubs (sometimes), and hang out with their friends all the time. There are thousands of opportunities to stand out on college campuses, and once I started looking for them, I found that many more came my way. When you become known on campus as someone who does cool things and is helpful to others, others want you to help them do cool things, too. Here's four ways I stood out in college, that you can copy: 1. Built a hammock lounge on my campus. It was shockingly easy, and the school later built 9 more. Let me know if you want the pitch deck I used. 2. Ran a sustainable clothing company, using the school's entrepreneurship resources to help me get off the ground to sell on campus and online. 3. Got really good grades. This one is pretty self explanatory. I asked professors for help when I was struggling, and found they were always willing to explain the topics to me again. 4. Ordered $thousands of Chick-Fil-A for football tailgates as Treasurer of the student section athletic club. All these opportunities helped me stand out from all the other business students on campus and secure my internships. If you want to learn how to differentiate yourself, I have a course I'm working on for you. It's called "Do Cool Stuff in College" -- let me know if you want to see it. #collegeadvice #collegetips #howtostandoutincollege
