The Ferrari Daytona SP3 is a special Lego technic model. Not only is it a super looking 1:8 scale model, it’s a really fun build (3778 pieces) with a fully functioning 7-speed gearbox, V12 engine together with working steering and suspension. When we think Lego, we don’t often think engineering. Designing a Lego model of something as complicated and aesthetically pleasing as the Daytona SP3 is a seriously impressive engineering feat. Together with the finished result, the build must also be fun and engaging. The Lego engineers nailed it on both fronts and deserve high praise here. Building Lego technic is fun. It enhances learning and stimulates creativity and problem solving. As the saying goes – we don’t stop doing things because we grow old, we grow old because we stop doing things! Design and development of new suspension geometry to cater to all customer requirements. Double wishbone A-arm with coil-over dampers. Camber, Caster, Toe, and steering Ackerman are adjustable in the front suspension whereas camber and toe are adjustable in the rear suspension. The track width is also adjustable. Maximum jounce and rebound travel, for each case, is 4 inches.
