Bicycles are for everyone. That is the takeaway Canyon Bicycles GmbH wants you to have from its recent collaboration with Lebron James. And... they're right! 46% of survey respondents in McKinsey's Center for Future Mobility survey indicate they're open to replacing their private vehicles with other modes of transport in the coming decade. By 2030 the market for micro-mobility is expected to reach $440B. No matter the reason, cycling is for all. https://lnkd.in/gAR6rcrA https://lnkd.in/gtFyJxbg

Canyon Bicycles GmbH x Lebron 👏 Attracting customers outside of the cycling industry to ride bikes has also been the holy grail in my eyes. People riding bikes only grows when we change habits and inspire. Something that caught my attention this week was an awesome collaboration between Canyon & Lebron James. Wow. They have truly pulled this one out the bag. This seems to be part of a wider marketing strategy named ‘Find Your Freedom’, which has set rider profiles for various uses for a bike. Personally on point to make sure they are relating to a significant amount of potential customers. Here is why I think this is the best cycling marketing play in 2024. ⭐ Lebron James is a global name. He appeals to an audience far wider than just people that cycle. ⭐ Its bold & brave. It pushes the boundaries of traditional cycling marketing. ⭐ It builds emotional attachment with the customer audience by leaning on specific rider profiles. ⭐ Inclusivity. Lebron is the highlight but when you dive deeper all these riders have a unique story In a time where market forces are working against brands, and usually cost control measures impact your marketing budget first, it is so pleasing to see this happen. Chapeau to the team at Canyon for challenging the boundaries of marketing in cycling & growing the sport/industry we are involved in. #marketing #cycling #branding #collab

Why I Chose Bicycling Over a Car: A Life-Changing Journey 🚴♂️ After cycling thousands of miles, I’ve discovered that life on two wheels offers unique benefits that go beyond just transportation. In this video, I share the secrets of why I’ve embraced cycling as a lifestyle and how it has transformed the way I live, shop, commute, and even enjoy the seasons. Whether you’re a seasoned cyclist or considering making the switch, this story is sure to inspire you! **Key Takeaways from My Cycling Journey:** 1. **Grocery Shopping Made Simple:** One of the biggest perks of cycling daily is how easy it makes grocery shopping. Unlike with a car, where I had to unload groceries from the garage and carry them into the house, my bike lets me roll straight into the kitchen. No parking hassle, no back-and-forth trips—just pure convenience. If you’ve ever lived in an apartment, you know how challenging grocery trips can be. With a bike, I avoid the struggle entirely! 2. **The Joy of Cycling Through the Seasons:** Cycling allows me to experience every season in its own unique way. Whether it’s the crisp air of winter or the warmth of summer, I embrace the pros and cons of each. With the right gear—like durable hiking clothes for winter or sun-shielding hats and hydration for summer—I’ve learned to adapt and truly enjoy the ride. Cycling lets me smell the roses, feel the breeze, and marvel at butterflies as I go. 3. **A Healthy Lifestyle Without Trying:** Every day on my bike, I get a natural workout that leaves me feeling amazing. The physical activity burns calories, releases dopamine, and clears my mind. It’s not just about fitness—it’s about mental clarity and the simple pleasure of moving. Cycling has become my therapy and my gym rolled into one. 4. **Outpacing Cars in Traffic:** Here’s a surprising fact: I often beat drivers to my destination, even when they leave at the same time as me. Traffic, parking, and delays slow them down, while I cruise right past. Whether it’s my daily trip to the gym or my college commute, my bike has consistently outperformed cars in urban settings. 5. **The Financial Freedom of Bicycling:** Owning a bike is a fraction of the cost of owning a car. No gas, no insurance, no constant repairs. Even if you invest in multiple bikes—for cargo, speed, or off-roading—you’ll still spend far less than maintaining a car. Plus, I’ve escaped the frustrations of traffic, road rage, and endless car-related subscriptions.

In my teens, I competed in snowmobile high-speed radar runs (sponsored by Northern Telephone High Speed Internet in 2002!) on frozen Lake Temiskaming riding a highly-modified Arctic Cat ZRT 1000 sled in the open class category. Revving the engine and giving a couple jumps on the sled to push the spikes into the smooth ice, I had to summon immense courage. Competing in this male-dominated event was a significant goal for me, pushing me beyond my comfort zone. The race began, and I focused entirely on the straight icy path ahead. The snowmobile’s speed was intense, and every tiny adjustment to the handle bars mattered. Bravery, much like physical muscles, is built over time through exposure to challenging situations. Keeping my thumb pinned down to achieve top speed in spite of the wind increasingly beating on me, and feeling like every small bump on the ice was going to veer me off course was challenging, but I squeezed the throttle as hard as I could. My first place victories on the ice became core memories and encouraged me to continue taking risks - solidifying the value of courage in my life, at work, and on behalf of the teams I have led. It’s easy to be a good leader when work is easy, it’s hard to be a good leader when times are challenging. If you can keep your thumb on the throttle in spite of the challenges you grow and you will be noticed. #HighSchoolWisdom
