Struggling with mission + vision? Try this roadtrip analogy 🚗🌳 It’s not mandatory to have a mission - vision statement for your company. And even if you do, it doesn’t always work. There’s research that shows that only 29% of employees have a full understanding of their company’s mission and vision. Makes it hard to have everyone pull in the same direction. Knowing what mission + vision stand for is the first step. So, I started thinking about our last family roadtrip last Summer. What if you would apply mission + vision to that? As an analogy? Plus, I threw in strategy, tactics and operations to get a bigger picture. Here’s what I came up with: ➕ Mission: To have a fun and memorable day with my family. ➕ Vision: To create happy memories that will last a lifetime and bring us closer as a family. ➕ Strategy: To go on a roadtrip in the rural parts of our region. ➕ Tactics: Plan stops, food and drinks. Pack a basket with food and drinks, load up the car, make sure everyone’s in the car, and drive. ➕ Operations: Drive to planned stops, explore the grounds, set up a blanket, and unpack the basket.
