Last month, I had the honour of delivering the keynote at the Furthr Founders @ GEC event, an exclusive networking event for entrepreneurs and founders supported by Furthr. This event fostered a strong sense of community, where founders engaged in meaningful discussions on topics crucial to their start-ups and personal journeys as entrepreneurs. As the Co-Founder and CCO of Alldus & Founder of AI Ireland, I shared insights on the current AI landscape, highlighting advancements, trends, and the potential for innovation. We explored: 1. The Evolving AI Landscape: Understanding where AI stands today and its future trajectory. 2. Implications for Founders: The potential for innovation, new business models, and integrating AI into existing products and services. 3. Benefits and Downsides of AI: A balanced view of AI’s benefits and ethical considerations. 4. EU AI Act and Compliance: The impact of the EU AI Act and the importance of adherence to avoid legal risks and build consumer trust. Post-keynote, founders joined roundtable discussions on: - Integrating AI into business models - Importance of paying customers from the start - Sustainability and ESG assessments - International D2C scaling and digital marketing - AI, the EU Act, and product/service risks - Maximising Enterprise Ireland’s global network - Lessons from bootstrapping - Securing Pre-Seed Start Fund (PSSF) After the keynote it was a privilege to lead a table topic discussion on the impact of the AI EU Act. The session delved into regulatory risks and provided practical insights on compliance. The event was a fantastic opportunity to connect with a diverse group of founders, many of whom are in the pre-seed funding stage, eager to integrate AI and navigate regulatory landscapes.
