1 week in-person at Backcountry, 4 weeks in my new Production Manager role. Here’s what I’ve learned: 1. Don’t rush in. Take your time to learn the people, the products, the process. 2. You know more than you think. Sounds crazy, but you’re qualified for the job they hired you for! If the new role includes a promotion, find confidence in the fact that they see that you’re ready for it. 3. Your coworkers are not looking for flaws. Everyone is excited about the skills you bring to the team, and they understand that there will be missteps as you learn. 4. Your managers should and will say thank you. They will trust your know-how and will voice appreciation for your work on the small things (that’s where experience really shows!) 5. Dogs should always be allowed in the office. Non-negotiable happiness will follow 😊

🌟 some character-building lessons from becoming a first-time Chief of Staff: 1. Anyone can learn anything, as long as you put your mind into practicing these lessons every single day. 2. The amount of tasks in one day can increase exponentially, if you aren't building processes to scale. 3. The sooner you embrace what you don't know, the better you can do your job. Stay curious and humble. I finally had the chance to think about and write down my journey to becoming a Chief of Staff at Zealy. Grateful for an incredible team that trusts and supports each other. Here's to continuous growth and new challenges! 💪 Link to the blog post in the comments ⬇️ P.S. We're hiring for a new Chief of Staff to co-build Zealy from 1 to N ✨ DM me if you'd like to learn more about the role!

Who knew that my "temporary" post-graduation serving job would lead to a fulfilling and challenging career? Over the past six years, I've had opportunities to travel, build friendships, have fun, and grow both professionally and personally. But it didn’t start out that way. For a long time, I fell into the trap of comparison. It seemed like everyone I knew was either being promoted, starting families, or succeeding in ways I wasn't. While working as a server, I realized that my version of success didn’t depend on what I was doing but how I was doing it. It wasn’t about external validation but about who I was and what I valued. I was proud of my friends and colleagues for following their paths, but the stereotypical post-grad route didn’t feel right for me. It took time to understand that success, for me, was about how I felt. Was I proud of the effort I put into my work? Did I maintain a healthy work-life balance that allowed me to travel, read, and explore my interests? Was I engaged and in control of my life? It really made me ask: 1. What do I value? 2. What do I want? Don't get me wrong, there were many moments of "what am I actually doing?", especially during the pandemic when the services industry was anxiety- inducing. But in the end I am so glad for my time at FireWorks Restaurant. The skills I gained there have been invaluable in my everyday life. I learned what I needed to about myself in order to enjoy my life outside of work, just as much as my time spent working. I am also grateful for the opportunities Telesis Inc. has given me. Being able to be creative, strategic, and work with a collaborative team is everything I’ve wanted. In my experience, a conventional post-graduation career path isn’t necessary for success or growth. Sometimes, an unconventional path lands you right where you need to be. #PersonalGrowth #WorkLifeBalance #CareerGrowth

Customer Services Manager @ Chronologic Ltd - Helping businesses optimise their workforce with Time and Attendance / Workforce Management Software
It's that time again for my Annual Cheesy Post! This past year has been a wild rollercoaster ride, and I can't help but express my gratitude that Chronologic Ltd continues to steer us toward becoming the absolute best we can be. As I reflect on this year's journey, six invaluable lessons have emerged: 1. People management becomes a breeze when you approach it with genuine authenticity and candid communication. 2. I've come to recognize that some team members may require a little more coaching than others, and that's perfectly okay—it's all part of our growth together. 3. No matter the challenge, there's always a solution waiting to be uncovered. Sometimes, it just takes a shift in perspective to unveil it. 4. I've realized that personal growth holds just as much significance, if not more, than our professional development. It's about becoming better individuals, which, in turn, makes us a better team. 5. Embracing creativity and allowing it to flourish has consistently yielded exceptional results, far surpassing the outcomes of simply assigning tasks. 6. I've learned that being a manager doesn't require a complete understanding of every aspect; it's about fostering an environment where each team member can shine in their unique capacities. So, here's to toasting the best five years with the most incredible team by my side. Here's to another year of growth, creativity, and accomplishments! 🚀🌟

At PGC Group every level of employee is valued and seen. And when you get to work side by side and break bread on a daily basis with key stakeholders, you can’t help but to learn a thing or two about life. A picture within a picture exemplifies exactly what it means when you bring along your values, triumphs and traumas into your everyday interactions. Be it with clients or more familial relationships. I am the sum total of my life experiences, but am I allowing unacknowledged or sometimes even unknown snapshots to alter how I perceive myself or how I interact with the world? This is my more poetic take on just a portion of the personal development training I received this past week with the team in New York. My advice? Find a job that teaches you more than just how to do the work. Find one that teaches you how to be better humans. Amy Davies Clarke Bowles

I used to scoff at things like mission, vision, and values. "Come on, be serious," I would think. That's fluffy BS. But I've come to realize how integral they are to ensuring everyone on the team understands why we're here and how we operate. And that there's a clear explanation for newcomers when they join our team of what they will be joining. It's not just important to have them either. It's important how they're created. And how they're protected through our day to day management. Which behaviors and norms we reinforce, and which we do not, are critical to a high performing team.

Supply Chain Efficiency | Sustainable Packaging | Problem Solver - Creating Customized Programs for Every Business
Teamwork makes the dream work! ☑️ Also, there is nothing quite like bringing one of your work besties on a tour around a local manufacturing plant - Art Rouse!! Here’s why: 1) Having a few different perspectives on a tour helps identify from a few sets of eyes where we can help solve challenges with our customer 👀👀 2) It shows the customer we are investing our time and effort on fully understanding their challenges 💪🏼 3) We make this a learning experience for both of us to grow in our profession 🤯 Important to note: Always make the customer aware of who you are bringing and why so they are not overwhelmed! It shows you are cautious of protecting their time and are showing full transparency. Happy Thursday from another day at the office working for Crown Packaging Corp. 👷🏼♀️👷🏻

I’ve missed working near the water. It’s nice to walk and take in the relative peace (whilst posting on LinkedIn and almost tripping!! 😂). So many memories here at Docklands - particularly my time working in a team called Property, Procurement & Environmental Operations (those who were there know this was indeed our BUs name - and my title was Manager of Environmental Communications and Engagement… try saying all that super fast!). Lots of friends, many life long ones. Lots of important mentors for me, Amy Conrad , Sudhir Rao , Nicola Schroder , Alison Read (who encouraged me to become a mentor for the first time!), Belynda Oliver ,Chris De La Rue , Cameron Myrtle , Simon Franklin , Marcus Carli , Katie M. , Brendan Keenan, Gillian Westwood - gosh… I could go on for days! I remember setting 3yr delivery strategies, iterating within that and often delivering something better than what we predicted - the strategy was simply a guide rail that we reported against and updated. We did that twice! 🤩 I’ve gone on to have so many amazing roles, in many different places - and like a Pokémon master, I have collected all the kind, courageous, compassionate and individually skilled humans I’ve had the honour to work with. But that time in PP&EO was like a summer’s afternoon with a cold drink in hand - hot (challenging, sometimes so much ya broke a sweat!) and refreshing (supported, connected, together, safe). If you’re still on LinkedIn and from that time, thanks for being awesome. Now, off to work at yet another stellar place! 🥳 #memories #dreamteam #delivery #iterativedelivery #careerreflections #careermoments #personaldevelopment #strategicplanning
