As a career shifter, it's not always easy to find the right fit. But when I am in, I am ALL in. From the restaurant biz to the human poop bag biz (yes, please ask!), to owning a bicycle-driven dessert business, to becoming an "advanced maternal age" Mom (however you want to define that odd term), to being a fitness instructor, to selling children's books, to creating my own job as a nonprofit fundraiser, to being a development director at another nonprofit... My career path has not been on the straight and narrow, but it has been rewarding. On a volunteer basis, I also taught snowboarding to people with disabilities for 15 years and was the top fundraiser and a board member for an ovarian cancer foundation. Some employers might see my varied career path as a minus. And some might see this as a plus. The employers who see that as a minus, well, we're not a good fit. The employers who see that as a plus?
