Balancing the need to prevent excessive surface sealing and uncontrolled water intrusion into the ground, especially in areas with shallow underground mining, requires innovative solutions. That's where blue-green infrastructure & #NBS comes into play. The development strategy for #rainwater #management in Miasto Jaworzno will not be created in isolation - the collaborative approach is ensured thanks to involvement of the municipality departments, Wodociągi Jaworzno sp. z o.o. and other relevant stakeholders. On 12th March, our Regional Implementation Group convened for the first meeting. The focus of the discussion centered around identifying the key success factors for #rainwater #solutions. Two critical factors emerged: the need for comprehensive cooperation among all levels of government responsible for blue-green infrastructure, and the importance of strategic management and spatial planning that incorporates a substantial share of biologically active areas within the city. In next months MAURICE Project teams from Główny Instytut Górnictwa - Państwowy Instytut Badawczy & Miasto Jaworzno will work on these aspects - stay tuned for updates on our progress as we work towards a more sustainable and water-resilient community, as #cooperationiscentral
