Last night at dinner, while discussing the grind that is entrepreneurship: 👉🏼 "#PR is so hard; it's changing and evolving so rapidly -- I literally don't know how you do it." - My fellow founder and friend Angela Minardi of Fit City Adventures This morning in our Maven Consulting slack channel: 👉🏼 "Well... it's happening. Check this out: Press Release: Dotdash Meredith Announces Strategic Partnership with OpenAI, Bringing Iconic Brands and Trusted Content to #ChatGPT" There's no doubt that there's some level of fear correlated to any #AI infiltration (guilty as charged). But being the #publicist I am, let's steer clear of the 'doomsday' mentality and find the positive spin on this, looking at how this will change our work, our relationships, and our results in the immediate future? I see it mostly in these three ways: 1. More Eyeballs on #EarnedCoverage 👀 Media outlets often face challenges in expanding beyond their existing audiences. By integrating with ChatGPT, they gain a new avenue to reach fresh audiences. This means our shared coverage not only benefits from being reshared but also becomes a means for media outlets to attract new, engaged visitors to their platforms through the curated content. 2. Expanded #Monetization Opps 💸 More eyeballs = more ways to monetize, particularly through increased affiliate marketing efforts, allowing media outlets and brands to capitalize on ChatGPT's user base for mutual benefit. 3. Elevated Standards for #Content 🏆 With increased consumption of content via ChatGPT, there will inevitably be more scrutiny (think about an audience reading for pleasure vs. utility). Therefore, I imagine there will be a heightened focus on maintaining editorial integrity and quality to meet the expectations of a diverse and discerning audience, creating an opportunity for writers/editors to craft even more compelling and credible narratives. So, while Angela is right -- it's inevitable, the PR landscape is changing at lightning speed. But our team is staying as close to the changes as possible to not get left behind, throwing caution to the wind and embracing it head on. What other choice do we have? https://lnkd.in/gk29yZRF
