Do YOU need someone to take your whimsical animations and combine it with your crazy-cute on-set live-action footage? Do you need someone to create an abandoned neighborhood, village, or other environment? Do you need something that exists only in the form of pixels and voxels to crumble, explode, or erode? Do you want someone who knows a bunch about a variety of programs and can easily learn and grow? Well, look no further! I am still available to join your team! I am currently versed in the wonders of Houdini, Nuke, Unreal Engine, Maya, and After Effects, and I can learn whatever other programs needed pretty quickly. #openforwork #lookingforwork #vfx #jobs #hireme #visualeffects

Need a💥 VFX/Tech Artist? 💥Julian Vitt is looking for his next employer. Link to his Artstation: https://lnkd.in/e-k9BvH5 ⬇ More information about Julian: Julian has been working with us since last year and it was a blast (get it? Blast = explosions ... nevermind). Here are some of the responsibilities he had: 💠Real-time VFX: VFX Graph and Shuriken System 💠Shader with Unity Shader Graph and HLSL (UI - & 3D Shader) 🛠 He can easily take ideas (or make them himself), draft possible solutions, craft visual effects for the whole team to choose from, and give his own knowledgeable opinion on the matter. 😸 As a person, we have always loved talking to Julian, because he is curious, funny, and generally a great person to work with. If you want to learn more about Julian, without my biased opinion, I can refer you to the following awesome folks: - Markus Esch (an experienced Tech Artist from Pixel Maniacs who mentored Julian) - Ralf C. Adam (a producer we worked with and a games industry veteran) Feel free to ask these two or me any questions you have. Of course, you can contact Julian directly! 👀 As a little example, you can see how Julian prototyped the effects for a 3D top-down deckbuilding game (GIF below). -- 📣 As announced in our studio closure post this is the first part (of 6) where I introduce you to our team. https://lnkd.in/ewFbGxTr 💼 Everyone is looking for a new job and it would be awesome if you could engage with this post, to support us. We're thankful for every opportunity 🤖 Next up: Game Designer, Yoshua Woo -- #games #gamesindustry #lookingforjob #gamedev #remotejobs #gamesdevelopment #vfx #vfxart #indiegame #indiedev #videogames #visualeffects

🌟 Meet Laura Santos: Illuvium Core Contributor 🌟 We're excited to introduce Laura Santos Gabriel from our VFX team. Here's a glimpse into her experiences and thoughts: 1⃣How did you first get involved with Illuvium? "Illuvium was my first job, just after finishing my specialised VFX studies. So I couldn't have had a better start! I started at Illuvium doing mostly environment, plants... and nowadays I surprise myself doing interactive effects with the character and much more advanced behaviours." 2⃣Can you describe a moment that was particularly rewarding for you at Illuvium? "When I was working on the stun and capture effect of the morphopods. I like challenging effects that go a bit outside of the artistic and into more technical behaviour. That particular effect was a challenge, and when it was implemented in the game, I was very proud of the result." 3⃣What's one thing about game development that might surprise people outside the industry? "Whenever I talk about video game development with someone outside the industry, they are always amazed at the amount of time and people it takes to make a game like Illuvium. Video game development is often much more complex than it appears from the outside. The number of departments there is often surprising. For example, with my work, everyone assumes I'm involved in everything because I'm an artist, modelling, texturing, concept... and it seems like it's hard to understand that I only do VFX; the rest is done by other wonderful artists." 4⃣Favourite Illuvial and why? "Umbre, apart from the design, which I think is spectacular and that mystical appearance it has, I love playing with rogue illuvials. And more than once, thanks to him and some good Augments, he has saved me from a complicated game." 5⃣If you could have a superpower to help you with your job, what would it be? "Controlling time! I would love to be able to stop time so I could keep learning new things. I think that being in constant contact with developments is crucial and having unlimited time to expand my knowledge would help me to make better and better effects!" #illuvium #meettheteam #web3gaming #VFXartist

🧠 VFX Artists! Do you hate having to select keys and set values on them on a Float From Curve in Unreal Engine's Niagara Editor? An easier way to accomplish this is to set them up as particle parameters using a Remap Range function. Here's how! #UnrealEngine #UnrealEngine5 #UE5

Recent job analysis by #GameSoundCon on jobs between 2020 and 2024 on getting hired as a game sound designer, one of the findings: "More game companies expect applicants to be familiar with game audio tools and game engines. The terms Wwise, Unreal, Unity, and/or FMOD occur much more frequently in game audio job descriptions than they did in 2020" These are all tools that we teach at SoVGA.com 😀 https://lnkd.in/g8GkE9JM

This project is a mix of Houdini & Unreal. The vehicle and cameras were animated in Houdini. The Dust sim was also done in Houdini using Axiom. The scene is lit by a quite lowrez HDRI, that was also used as a cheap environment. The ground is basically a plane with a Megascans texture. I did not want to do to much with the environment since the focus was on the animation workflow between Houdini and Unreral. Rendered with the path tracer in unreal 5.3 with super low settings (each frame took about 7-8 seconds). The edit was done in sequencer in Unreal, which has the nice benefit that we only need to render exactly what is needed. The final edit was done in DaVinci Resolve.
