🔬 Excited to share our latest publication: "Bioactive Ion-Confined Ultracapacitive Memristors with Neuromorphic Functions" 🧠 In this study, we explore the emerging field of bioinspired iontronics by investigating how bioactive ammonium-based ions interact with porous carbon electrodes. Our results show that strong physisorption, driven by hydrophobic and electrostatic interactions, leads to unique memristive behaviors. This work opens the door to advances in biointerfacing, transmitter delivery, and neuromorphic devices. Special thanks to my host, Prof. Kaskel Stefan, and all co-authors for their invaluable contributions to this research. ❓Martina, what is your role at HLL?   ❗"As a physical-technical assistant, I am responsible for the production of silicon detectors. Production takes place in our ISO class 3 clean room. The clean room is the cleanest room in the entire semiconductor laboratory. If you imagine that there are a million particles buzzing around our heads in a normal environment, there are only 1-10 particles in the clean room. A detector goes through around 80 process steps before it is finished. Starting with the selection of the 6 inch wafer silicon material, through the first oxidation, the lithographies, the application of the various layers, the wet chemical etching and the implantations, to name just a few. Optical inspections under a microscope ensure the quality of the chips on the wafer, as even one particle on a conductor track can lead to a short circuit. Metallization and passivation of the protective layer with BCB (Benzocyclobutene) are the final steps in the clean room. The wafer is then measured and is ready to be separated. I then pass it on to the assembly laboratory for cutting. From the construction of the first prototype to the pixel detector, I was responsible for the production of Belle.“ #hll #belle #mpg #internationalerfrauentag2024
