Imagine a partition that separates but does not divide. Simultaneity and interconnectedness characterize an age in which technology transcends its functional role to become a medium of communication, meaning, and relationship with the world. As a result, the boundary between what can be shared as a collective experience and what remains personal and individual becomes increasingly blurred. In this scenario, public places - such as working spaces - require flexible design solutions that can be readily adapted to the changing needs of people and contexts. To translate these concepts into architecture, we introduce the “Thinking box”, a project conceived by the Canadian studio Renocon Design Center. This partition is a permeable wall made of carbon fiber with the "Random" pattern, featured by a pleasantly chaotic texture that allows two-way tension, thus creating shared yet distinct spaces, which promote connection and responsible collaboration.
