This might be one of my favourite pieces of content PartnerStack has published. It brings together immense knowledge, varied experiences working in industries dominated by men, and insights on how to navigate rising to leadership roles as a woman. It’s insane to me how prevalent imposter syndrome is and the way those limiting beliefs can hold us back in our careers. Then act from that. - Jessie Shipman On partnerships: Even if you can’t kick off with a sponsorship worth thousands of dollars, she says there are still creative ways to show partners you’re invested: buying them a subscription for a tool they need, giving them ready-to-use content or inviting them to events. - Roxana Motoc “When you’re younger, you just don’t know what you don’t know,” Tsai says. “I had more imposter syndrome in my 30s than in my 20s — and that’s when I had to ask for help. A lot of early career advice is about how to find a mentor. But it’s not really about mentorship. It’s about proactively establishing relationships so you have champions: people who are thinking about you to do this work when you’re not in the room. - Annie Tsai Don’t be afraid to bring up problems. If you bring them to leadership, you’ll probably end up running point on that project. It’s always helpful to bring up issues when there’s a gap. The worst that can happen is they’ll say no.” - W. “What I see among women in partnerships is the tendency to kind of be the glue,” Winfield explains. “Speak your mind. Don’t hold back! Your job is not to make it comfortable for everybody. You should care how people feel and how they’re processing, but you can’t make it comfortable for everybody. It is great to talk about how women contribute to transform business. It is a must for companies to include women in leadership positions!

I had the privilege of attending the Intentional Leadership Executive Women's Breakfast with none other than the extraordinary Carla Harris, and I must say, it was nothing short of transformative! Carla’s energy, wisdom, and passion for empowering women resonated deeply with me. Her words were not just a call to action but a roadmap for authentic leadership. A heartfelt thank you to Sarah Beane Ricca CFP®, CDFA® for inviting me to this incredible event and my dear friend Jeff Brodsky, who also thinks Carla is “awesome.” Your belief in the power of women’s leadership and this opportunity to be in the same room with Carla made this experience all the more special. As someone who began my career over 35 years ago on Wall Street (I was at Salomon Brothers), I was moved to see how far we’ve come but also reminded of how much work is still needed to empower women in leadership. Back then, women like us weren’t in the C-suite, let alone in the boardroom. To witness Carla's success and to hear her “8 Pearls of Wisdom”—authenticity, trust, creating leaders, embracing diversity, innovation, inclusivity, voice, and more—was inspiring and reaffirming. I'm currently deep into her third and latest book, "Lead to Win" (https://lnkd.in/e_tV6hv3), and I’m loving every page. Her framing of leadership as a journey of intention and purpose aligns with many of the themes I explored in my book "The 7 Secrets to Creating a Life You Love". In both our works, we champion living intentionally, owning your voice, and creating environments that foster growth and authenticity. Carla’s insights not only reinforced the importance of intentionality in leadership but also mirrored the core messages I hold dear: Being your authentic self, making intentional choices, and uplifting others along the way. It was a moment of reflection and affirmation that, like Carla, we must continue to pave the way for future generations of women leaders by living and leading with purpose. Thank you Ann Houghton for another beautifully-written piece that’s encouraged me to reflect on the concept of ‘Quiet Leadership’ and the value it holds. Ann says: “We can be leaders in lots of other ways. […] There are people I know who don’t have a title but they’re absolutely at the top of their game and command enormous respect. We need to recognise the leaders amongst us who naturally lead people in quiet ways.” Leadership does indeed take many forms and is not always the person shouting the loudest and charging ahead. Sometimes, the leader is the person walking alongside a team, drawing them in and inspiring through gentle examples. 💭 Food for thought as I work on my own leadership skills … Do we all have an innate leadership style? Does/can this evolve? Or is it perhaps about having a leadership toolbelt that we pull the most appropriate approach from at any given time? 🤔
