Remember... Constructive criticism isn't bad. Last year, I had the pleasure of speaking with Lynn Gaudet and her new podcast featuring female professionals. We spoke about lessons learned as a creative professional. One aspect about working as a professional creative that is different from other fields, is that what you do is inherently subjective. 👉 Recent workplace studies show that marketers and designers receive far more pushback and opinions on their work than other departments. When's the last time you heard someone say, "I don't like the way that balance sheet looks. Can you change it?" 😂 When I studied fine art at The University of Toledo, under Deb A. Davis, Deborah Orloff, Dustyn Bork, and others, project "critiques" were engrained in our weekly classes. The critique was as much a part of the course as the creation. This method set me up for success in taking criticism in stride as a professional. I am still learning and growing, but look forward to understanding what can be improved. https://lnkd.in/dw-36Mbj

Navigating the world of RFPs (Request for Proposals) can feel like a never-ending maze (and a money pit, too), especially for small businesses. Without an "in" or a solid relationship with a decision-maker who knows your work, it can often seem like a fruitless endeavor. That heavy feeling that comes with approaching deadlines and the frustration of slim odds can weigh like ton of bricks. Sometimes, the best strategy is to step away from the desk and focus on building those essential connections. Because in the world of RFPs, sometimes it’s not just about the proposal—it’s about who you know…and who knows the value of your product or service. Nothing beats a recommendation along with a warm introduction. "Snapshot" is a weekly comic strip series illustrated by my daughter Catalina Mía (age 14) for URBANDER. This delightful series captures humorous and relatable moments in the life of a Latina entrepreneur, highlighting challenges and triumphs with a touch of humor and wit. Every Monday, we will enjoy an amusing snapshot of the entrepreneurial lifestyle of the new global majority in the U.S. through Catalina's artistic lens. #URBANDER #Mindset #SnapshotComicSeries #CatalinaMia #LatinaEntrepreneur #entrepreneuriallifestyle #keepingitreal #latina #storytelling #illustrator #artist #creativity #comic #comicart

Why have the endgame conversation? You need to know what's next for you in your life. What is after being a business owner? Most entrepreneurs build their identity around being a business owner. They then struggle to find a new identity after they are no longer a business owner. The first step in the endgame interview is to flesh out who you want to become next. A world traveler, a mentor to others, a philanthropist, a politician, or simply a better spouse and parent/grandparent, or God forbid an employee. https://lnkd.in/gNkfKrJm

𝗠𝘂𝘁𝘂𝗮𝗹 𝗦𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘀𝗳𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗦𝘂𝗰𝗰𝗲𝘀𝘀 I interviewed Jeffrey Hayzlett, Founder and Chairman of the C-Suite Network, and he shared the concept of 'Mutual Satisfaction.' When doing business, he wants to know how the other party will be satisfied. I flipped the table and asked what success looked like for him. Watch this video to discover the three things that satisfy a serial entrepreneur who has bought and sold over 250 companies with over $250 billion in transactions. How about you? Are your conditions for satisfaction similar or different? #success #business #interview
