William, a specially trained black lab, is bringing comfort and hope to kids at the Mayo Clinic Center for Safe and Healthy Children and Adolescents. These children often face difficult journeys, sharing their stories of trauma and abuse. William’s calming presence helps ease their stress, whether he’s lying beside them during therapy, sitting with them during medical visits, or even accompanying them to court. “He exudes warmth and love,” says Nikki Rose, his primary handler. “Kids look forward to therapy just to see him.” Trained by Duo Dogs Inc., a nonprofit that places facility dogs with organizations supporting vulnerable populations, William has become an invaluable member of the Mayo team. He’s helping kids heal and offering much-needed comfort to staff, too. Learn more about William’s inspiring work: https://mayocl.in/3EamBGV
William warms my heart! Love to see this 💙
There's a reason behind the fact that reading "dog" backwards, it spells "God" 😉💕
Willam is a handsome fellow. ♥️
This is incredible! 💛 William’s impact at the Mayo Clinic is truly heartwarming. Dogs like him remind us of the profound healing power of unconditional love and presence. For children navigating such challenging circumstances, having a gentle, calming companion like William can make all the difference—turning moments of fear into ones of hope. Thank you to Nikki Rose, the Mayo team, and Duo Dogs Inc. for showing how compassion and innovation can come together to create a brighter future for these kids. William, you’re a hero in fur. 🐾✨
