The European Biogas Association estimated the Austrian green gas production in 2022 to be 1,487 GWh of biogas and 136 GWh of biomethane. Austria anticipates a shift from biogas to biomethane with the Renewables Expansion Act (EAG) and a green gas quota for gas suppliers. JBS USA will produce #renewable #natural #gas at multiple #beef and #poultry processing plants as part of a new partnership with GreenGasUSA, the #meat giant said Tuesday. The collaborators plan to collect #methane from #wastewater streams at #JBS facilities using GreenGasUSA’s on-site upgrading systems, which can purify biogas into pipeline-quality renewable natural gas. The company said it will begin installing GreenGasUSA’s systems at JBS-owned processing plants in #Nebraska, #South #Carolina and #Utah, and plans to complete the additions next year. The #USTreasury's proposed guidance on #cleanelectricity #taxcredits under the #InflationReductionAct has major implications for the #biogas and #RNG markets. The guidance requires a lifecycle #GHG analysis for biogas and RNG projects, which adds unnecessary hurdles not faced by other #cleanenergy sources. Additionally, the definition of "first productive use" could disqualify many existing projects, and the #Treasury's claim of insufficient verification mechanisms is disputed by industry experts. This uncertainty risks delaying investments and undermines Congressional intent to support all clean energy pathways. The American Biogas Council urges the Treasury to provide clear, supportive guidelines for biogas and RNG to ensure their role in our clean energy future. 

Biomethane at 37% in Denmark🇩🇰👍 Biomethane production have increased 4% over the last 6 month, but colder weather🥶 have driven overall gas demand up. In average more than 20% higher than last winter. January 2024 gas demand was 37% higher than January 2023. So no worries - biomethane increases📈, even when the average numbers show a little decline.
