#ValidateWithQuanser This paper delves into the challenges of ensuring stability (in some sense) and robustness in large-scale second-order consensus networks (SOCNs) and autonomous vehicle platoons in the discrete-time domain. It proposes a graph-theoretic methodology for designing a state feedback law for these systems in a discrete-time framework. In the end, the article concludes with simulation and experimental results (using Quanser's QLabs and QCars) that show that the proposed framework is very effective in predicting the behaviour of vehicle platoons, even for more complex agents with nonlinear dynamics. Last week, I had the honor of attending #IFIT2024, The 5th #IFToMM ITALY Conference, at #PolitecnicodiTorino, where I presented the paper "Comparison of Model-Based Techniques for Vehicle Sideslip Angle Estimation" during the special session "Advances in Vehicle Dynamics and Wheel Contact Mechanism." #Virtual #sensing plays a crucial role in modern #ADAS control systems, as it enables real-time decision-making and improved vehicle safety. However, it is essential to carefully #balance model #accuracy with #computational #effort to ensure optimal system performance. The presented paper aims at addressing this issue by deeply comparing different model-based observers. It is always inspiring to be in such a stimulating environment, with the opportunity to both receive and ask questions on research topics that represent the future of autonomous mobility.
