In light of Hurricane Milton's approach, our Tampa office will be closed today and tomorrow to allow our staff and their families the necessary time to prepare for the storm. Our hearts go out to all those affected by the devastating impact of Hurricane Helene. As we witness the tragic loss of lives and widespread damage, we stand in solidarity with the communities facing the destruction of vital infrastructure. The collapse of bridges, roads, and critical transportation routes has left many communities isolated, limiting access to essential resources such as emergency healthcare and food. In our world of geotechnical engineering, it’s easy to focus on data, testing, and design. But events like this remind us of our ultimate responsibility: to build safe, resilient infrastructure that protects and serves communities during everyday life and times of crisis.
