Knowledge grows exponentially by sharing it - not saving it! MC Squared’s Engineers and Staff had a memorable day with AtkinsRéalis Interns on Tuesday during our 3rd Annual Internship Field Trip Program. Interns developing their skills in roadway, environmental, project management, water resources, structures, and site design got a taste of the importance of Geotechnical Engineering through how it impacts and connects across these projects. Thank you to Atkins for seeing the need to educate the engineers of our future! #MCSquared #CanDoAttitude #GeotechnicalEngineering

An Architecture and Engineering Student at the Southern Indiana Career & Technical Center. Intern for Koberstein Contracting, Inc.
As I am now a few months into my internship, I can say I have learned a lot. The knowledge that has been provided to me during this internship is unforgettable and much appreciated! Here is a list of a few things I have learned: - How to set up, use, and properly layout a site using GPS equipment. (Pictured Below: 2 gate Values and a Tee) - How to correctly calibrate a site utilizing GPS equipment. - How to mathematically check interferences in new utilities with existing utilities. - A better understanding of plan reading. - How to wet tap a waterline, without shutting it down. - How to do topsoil cut and fill calculations. - A better understanding of how to correctly install utilities per an engineer's standards. #indianaCTE #internships #architecture @AsherAlden Southern Indiana Career & Technical Center #KobersteinContracting #careertecheducation @SICTCEngineering&ArchitectureAlumni J. Master of Construction Management Graduate | Architecture & Project Management | Design Management | Passionate About Sustainable Building Practices and Digital Construction
I am excited to announce that I have just finished the Engineering Consulting virtual internship available on Forage, sponsored by GHD! 🎓💼 This experience has given me a profound insight into the exceptional work conducted by GHD in the engineering consulting field. A big shoutout to GHD for offering such an enriching opportunity, and to Forage for providing a platform where I could gain practical experience and explore career paths within the industry. I'm excited to apply the lessons learned from this internship to my future professional endeavors!🌟 In the simulation I: · Completed a job simulation involving an options analysis for different rail alignment options for the GHD transport team. · Used design brief documents and preliminary designs to formulate cost and construction time estimates for different rail alignment options. · Investigated and compared the impact of each alignment option on stakeholders, the environment and design outcomes. · Compared each alignment option using a weighted options analysis spreadsheet and communicated key findings and recommendations to the client in a technical memorandum. #GHD #EngineeringConsulting #VirtualInternship #Forage #ProfessionalDevelopment Check out the simulation here: https://lnkd.in/gaBRcc-E

Senior Business Executive @ Mansfield Service Partners/Fleet-Lube | Bulk Fuel & Lubricant Solutions For The Commercial and Heavy Civil Contractor
Urban Infraconstruction LLC ; Investing for The Future to follow. As a parent of a son in his (near) mid 20s who has benefited from a Career Development Opportunity similar to this, I can personally say these opportunities that are surfacing at a rapid rate give legitimacy to the idea that beginning a career in the Construction Industry isn’t a fallback option and furthermore provides a sustainable career path that what some once considered/still consider a dead end. Traditional schooling still holds validity, I will never argue that. What I will say is that not everyone is cutout for “The typical”. I applaud 👏🏼 Urban Infraconstruction LLC and the many Universities & Players in this industry for opening a lane that has The World of Yellow Iron, Dirt, Concrete, roads, dams, bridges, etc. “sexy” once again. #careerinconstruction #uta #UTAArlington #internshipopportunities Justin Csader Urban Infraconstruction LLC #investinginthefuture

Are you interested in an internship with the Department of Water Resources? Kazuaki Hatano, a DWR intern is nearing his completion of his internship and has a few words to share of his internship experience! "First of all, I wanted to thank Samantha Blackwood for the opportunity at DWR. I have certainly learned a lot about what the engineers do at the Department of Water Resources. Since I am an engineer major, it has really helped doing this internship. Simple things such as reading engineering maps, what the road to an engineer looks like, and understanding how meetings are held were just a few of the things that I have learned that really helps me stay motivated for continuing with my education in engineering. A lot of this program is more of what you want to get out of it. I always came in the office at least once a week to ask specific questions that gets me a better understanding of what an engineer does. It really helps with my future because not only is this good experience as a first-year student, but it also can really bolster my resume for the next school year. I also have learned a lot about the Delta Conveyance Project and some of the future opportunities that I can find further down the line."
