This year marks the kickoff of a new, annual tradition that raises awareness of the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline and mental health support, with each year focusing on a different theme. The 2024 theme is “No Judgment. Just Help.” 988 Day highlights how communities, organizations and people supporting mental health are creating positive buzz around 988 in their own fun and creative ways as a method of raising awareness of 988 across the United States. If you need inspiration for what you can do on 988 Day, check out some of the things others are already thinking about doing on the 988 Day Ideas webpage. How to Get Involved in 988 Day 1. Use the 988 Day Digital Toolkit to get digital and print materials made specifically for 988 Day – the toolkit includes materials in English and Spanish, and ready-made social media graphics and copy. 2. Plan your activities for 988 Day (or use work you’re already doing for other observances in September like National Suicide Prevention Month). Some creative ideas to observe 988 Day include: hosting a mental health awareness fair, distributing informational materials in community centers and schools, or creating artwork expressing the 988 Day theme. 3. On Sunday 9/8, use the hashtag #988Day on social media to share your activities to promote this year’s 988 Day theme, “No Judgment. Just Help.” 4. The team at National Contract Management Association (NCMA) is looking for presentations that go beyond just the contracting professionals. If you are involved in the #govcon process we need you to submit your presentation proposal. Maybe you wrote requirements, maybe you are a Quality Assurance Specialist or an Industrial Specialist involved in oversight. You could be an attorney or a small business professional. Maybe you work in private equity or are a venture capitalist. All are welcome and encouraged. This is going to be an amazing event that builds on last year's inaugural edition.
