National Moth Week 🦋 An annual, internationally recognised week that celebrates the beauty, life cycles and habitats of moths around the world, National Moth Week has taken on a unique significance for us here at Forge. It’s a sad fact that events like this are needed to raise awareness for the plight of fauna whose habitats are being destroyed by the ‘progress’ of human endeavour. Sadly, light pollution has had a devastating impact on many nocturnal species, which is why we renewed our commitment to protecting night skies by partnering with Lumileds to offer turnkey solutions for professional lighting products, incorporating LUXEON NightScape technology with Forge’s rapid product realisation. Lumileds’ technology allows for compliance with emerging international environmental regulations while maintaining desirable aesthetics and performance characteristics. 🌍Find our how Forge and Lumileds can elevate your lighting product portfolio and help to protect our nocturnal species - - > https://lnkd.in/ex-xGuPr #DarkSky #ExternalLighting #NationalMothWeek #LEDInnovation

Public Service Announcement: Only two weeks until Shark Week. As a minimalist, I admire sharks for their simplicity and efficiency, and shear awesomeness! And as someone who cares about the planet, I appreciate the awareness Shark Week brings to folks. Not only about the sharks themselves, but also the crucial role they play in keeping our oceans healthy, which is vital for our planet’s well-being. So, be warned…you can expect shark related content in this feed as well as in my newsletter that week. Remember, life is pretty great. Keep it simple! And…fins up! -Jimmy #health #love #growth #simplicity #sharks #sustainability #oceanhealth

The Beauty of Diverse Perspectives In our complex world, every person has a unique lens through which they see and interpret life's moments. This phenomenon, known as Point of View (POV), shapes our attitudes, decisions, and interactions. For me, the diversity of POVs isn't just fascinating; it's a treasure trove of ideas and inspiration. The more perspectives we gather, the richer our understanding becomes, much like collecting a myriad of ideas from a single source. Imagine you're walking through a dense forest. To one person, the towering trees might represent strength and resilience. To another, the variety of plants and animals could symbolize the richness of life and the importance of biodiversity. A birdwatcher might be enchanted by the melodies of the forest, while a photographer could be captivated by the play of light through the canopy. Each individual sees something unique in the same forest, adding layers of meaning and insight to the experience. However, the real challenge lies in ensuring our perspectives are constructive and uplifting. It's about harnessing the power of our POVs to generate positive energy and share valuable insights with others. This can be particularly tough when faced with negative experiences. Yet, as the saying goes, "The hardest part of life is finding the positive side of every negative experience." It's a testament to resilience and optimism, encouraging us to seek out the silver lining even in the darkest clouds. In the end, it's not just about what we see but how we choose to see it. By cultivating a habit of looking for the good in every situation, we can influence not only our own lives but also those around us. Our positive POVs can become beacons of hope and wisdom, offering new perspectives and inspiring others to view life through a lens of possibility and growth.

Gamified conservation: A bold leap towards meaningful change. The story of Elmer the goldfish: Children's games transform into saving real-world waters. Boring lessons replaced by interactive, rewarding experiences. Imagine a world where saving water is as delightful as playing your favorite game. Old way Dry facts and forgettable figures taught to disinterested kids. New way Every drop saved, Elmer thrives; every wasteful turn, we watch him wither. Takeaway When conservation feels like play, every child can become a hero for our waters. "Let the smallest hands hold the mightiest power to change the future." ~Marc If this speaks to you, spread the word 🔄 and connect with me for more innovation in sustainability for our future generations.

"If I had to choose, I would rather have birds than airplanes." - Charles Lindbergh. Choosing Nature: The Value of Birds Over Machines Discover why choosing birds over airplanes symbolizes a deeper appreciation for nature’s beauty and harmony. Embrace a balanced life. The Heart of the Quote: Nature Over Technology This quote suggests a preference for nature’s simplicity over technological advances. It highlights the irreplaceable beauty and peace that birds and natural landscapes bring our lives. #NatureLover #Simplicity Appreciating Nature’s Wonders: Finding Joy in Simple Pleasures Birds symbolize freedom, grace, and the joy of simple things. Watching them soar can bring peace and wonder that no machine can replicate. By appreciating these small wonders, we nurture a deeper connection to the world around us. #NatureAppreciation #SimpleJoys The Limitations of Technology: Understanding What Machines Can’t Offer While airplanes represent human achievement, they can’t replace the tranquility and natural beauty birds offer. Machines serve practical needs, but they lack the emotional and aesthetic value that nature provides. #TechVsNature #NaturalBeauty Finding Balance in Modern Life: Harmonizing Technology and Nature In today’s world, technology is essential, but it’s crucial to find a balance. We can appreciate advancements without losing sight of what truly enriches our lives—like the song of a bird or a peaceful moment outdoors. #Balance #ModernLife Conservation and Responsibility: Protecting What We Value Choosing birds over airplanes also implies valuing and protecting nature. As we advance technologically, we must also focus on conserving wildlife and natural habitats to maintain the balance that sustains our world. #Conservation #ProtectNature Inspiring a Greater Connection: Encourage Others to Value Nature When we prioritize nature, we inspire others to do the same. Share the beauty of a morning bird song or a quiet walk in the woods. By valuing nature, we remind ourselves and others of its irreplaceable worth. #InspireNature #ValueTheEarth

Innovation is always possible. #tuesdaythoughts #nationalparkweek We often focus on innovation as a “big idea.” In mutlifamily, the words is thrown around often in proptech, but many products dont learn earn the social proof unless they are “game-changers.” But innovation can walk softly and carry a big stick, too. Innovative ideas can range in scale and scope and the National Park Service has hundreds of examples. Today’s theme for National Parks Week is INNOVATION, so I curated a short list of seven innovations found in seven different National Parks: Solar-powered trams in Zion National Park: ☀️🚞 Zion implemented solar-powered trams to reduce carbon emissions and minimize the environmental impact of transportation within the park. GPS collars for wildlife monitoring in Yellowstone National Park: 📍🦬 Yellowstone uses GPS collars on animals like wolves and bears to track their movements, helping researchers better understand their behaviors and protect their populations. Virtual reality experiences in Grand Canyon National Park: 🥽 🎮 The Grand Canyon offers virtual reality experiences that allow visitors to explore the park's depths and history in immersive detail, enhancing educational opportunities and accessibility. Biophilic design in Acadia National Park: ♻️ 🏗️ Acadia incorporates biophilic design principles into its infrastructure, integrating natural elements into buildings and landscapes to create a harmonious environment for visitors and wildlife. Aquaponics systems in Everglades National Park: 💦 🌱 Everglades utilizes aquaponics systems to grow sustainable produce while conserving water resources, demonstrating innovative methods for food production in fragile ecosystems. Drone technology for conservation in Glacier National Park: 🚁🕹️ Glacier employs drones for various conservation efforts, including monitoring wildlife, mapping terrain, and assessing environmental changes, enhancing the park's ability to protect its natural resources. Smart waste management in Yosemite National Park: 🛜🚮 Yosemite has implemented smart waste management systems that use sensors to optimize collection routes and reduce littering, promoting cleanliness and sustainability within the park. Have you been to any of these parks? See any of this in action? ➡️. Please share! 🙏🏻 What about other parks? Have you noticed other kinds of innovation? #innovation #proptech #optoutside

🌈 Sharing is caring, let’s share the news about sustainability. Caring is a beautiful force that extends beyond our human experience. In our daily lives, we appreciate the positive impact of sharing and empathy. It's worth noting that this isn't just a human trait because oftentimes nature shows us heartwarming instances that remind us of the universal essence of caring. ♥️ In this beautiful video, a monkey and a turtle shows that kindness and giving transcends beyond us and goes deep into the animal kingdom. The monkey, after taking a bite from an apple, gives it to the turtle to take a bite too. The moment is beautiful, what with the monkey taking two bites and having the turtle take. It’s the thoughts that count though. 💕 Monkeys, much like us, showcase incredible levels of empathy and sharing within their social structures. Scientific studies delve into their social intelligence, showing the importance they place on fairness within their groups. Understanding these little variations improves our appreciation for the caring nature inherited by every species in the natural world. 💝 It's beautiful how we can pick lessons from just about anything including animals and apply to our own lives as humans. There is a meaningful connection between this inspiring animal interaction and our shared responsibility for water sustainability. 🌟 The act of sharing witnessed in the video can serve as a metaphor for our collective duty to care for the planet. Just as the monkey shared its apple, we must share the responsibility of preserving our most vital resource - water. When we care and team up, we're making a positive mark on how we handle water. This helps create a world where everyone can live together harmoniously and look out for one another.. #water #sustainability #Impactinvesting #Impact #nature #kindness #love #empathy
