Our Pride Action group hosted Steffie BOUCHER at our Montréal office. Steffie (she/they), a Black queer visual artist from the Caribbean, now based in Montréal, creates artwork that explores the interplay between nature and urban environments. We were truly honored to showcase such remarkable talent and are excited to continue collaborating with the 2SLGBTQ+ community to support and promote artists like Steffie. #pride

If you're part of the LGBTQIA2S+ community or an ally and are interested in queer art, this post is for you! 😊🌈✨ Me and my partner have created a Substack for the queer art community, named Pride Palette 🏳️🌈🎨 If you're not familiar with Substack, it contains many different newsletters of various topics you can sign up to receive. For Pride Palette, we have a free tier, as well as a few paid options, starting at only $7/month. We'd love for you to sign up and help support two queer artists highlighting and uplifting the lives and works of other queer artists! 💖🌈✨ So far, we've released two articles: one fully free, and one for paid users (free users can see a preview). Each month, we'll cover one contemporary/modern queer artist (for paid subscribers), and one historical queer artist for all subscribers! As this Substack grows, so will our content! 1st contemporary artist: Demian DinéYazhi’ is a Diné non-binary and trans multidisciplinary artist, whose work centers around the entangled relationships between land, Native cultures, and colonial, capitalist economic and political systems. 1st historical artist: David Wojnarowicz was a fiery & highly influential queer multimedia artist, writer, and political activist known for his deeply personal and provocative style. So, if you are a queer artist or just generally interested in learning more about often overlooked queer art and artists, Pride Palette will have something for you! Feel free to check it out (and subscribe) here: https://lnkd.in/gAbqgCxX We hope you'll subscribe and enjoy learning more about queer art all in one space 🌈✨ Disclaimer: Pride Palette is a safe space for marginalized communities, therefore there it is no place for harmful or hateful rhetoric. It is the responsibility of all parties in discussion in this space to engage respectfully. Also, no AI-generated content will be shared or promoted as part of the Pride Palette newsletter. Artists and creatives deserve better than dedicating hours of their time only to have their work stolen. #supporthumanartists #pridepalette #substack #queerart #queer #lgbtqia2s #lgbtqia #lgbt #art #newsletter

Celebrating Equality: Honoring Black LGBTQI+ Voices During Black History Month, we not only celebrate the achievements and contributions of Black individuals but also recognize the diverse experiences within the community. Today, we stand in solidarity with Black LGBTQI+ persons, who have faced unique challenges in their fight for equality. From the Stonewall uprising to present-day activism, Black LGBTQI+ individuals have played pivotal roles in advancing civil rights and championing inclusivity. Yet, their struggles against discrimination, prejudice, and violence persist. Let's amplify their voices, uplift their stories, and affirm our commitment to creating a world where everyone, regardless of race, gender identity, or sexual orientation, can live authentically and without fear. This Black History Month and beyond, let's honor the resilience, courage, and contributions of Black LGBTQI+ persons in shaping a more equitable and inclusive society. #BlackHistoryMonth #LGBTQI+ #Equality #Inclusion #BlackLGBTQI+ #Unity

Today is International Coming Out Day, and I wanted to share the National Black Justice Coalition's "Inviting In Toolkit". I love the idea behind "inviting in" rather than "coming out." It’s such a powerful shift in perspective – instead of feeling like we’re expected to reveal ourselves to others, "inviting in" focuses on something we choose to do, when we feel ready. It becomes an act of love and trust, allowing us to share who we are with those we truly care about. It’s about creating spaces of understanding, rather than responding to expectations. https://lnkd.in/eKzkeP4W #InternationalComingOutDay #InvitingIn #LGBTQIA+

We all have the same 168 hours as Beyoncé but wow Whether you like her music or not, it is hard not to respect her professional, artistic and marketing brilliance. In the realm of professional excellence and artistic brilliance, Beyoncé stands as a undisputed Queen, exemplifying what it means to push boundaries and redefine standards. Her simultaneous work on “Renaissance” and “Cowboy Carter” is nothing short of extraordinary. “Renaissance” wasn’t just an album; it was a celebration of the roots of voguing, house, and disco music, echoing the spirit of the ’70s and ’80s club scenes and uplifting the LGBTQ community. But behind the scenes, Beyoncé was also crafting “Cowboy Carter,” a masterful response to the racism she experienced at the CMAs and a testament to resilience. No other artist has managed to make the cultural statements, bend genres and protest infidelity and racism in the way she has. What’s truly mind-blowing is how Beyoncé managed these projects simultaneously, each with its own set of complexities and demands… and she’s note done- Act3 is in the way. This speaks volumes about her commitment to excellence. She meticulously planned and executed both projects while balancing her role as a mother to three children, showcasing unparalleled dedication and work ethic. Beyoncé’s journey is a powerful reminder of the excellence we can aspire to in our professional lives. It challenges us to think bigger, push harder, and use our platforms to make meaningful statements. Excellence isn’t just about achieving success; it’s about how we respond to setbacks, how we embrace our unique voices, and how we commit to our visions with unwavering passion and precision. Let’s take inspiration from Beyoncé’s playbook: Plan meticulously, embrace our unique strengths, and never shy away from using our platforms to make a difference. She is, unequivocally, one of the greatest artists of our time—a true beacon of excellence in both her craft and her approach to life’s challenges. Let’s have a conversation about what excellence means to you and how we can bring that level of dedication and creativity into our own fields. #Excellence #Inspiration #Beyoncé #ProfessionalGrowth #ArtisticBrilliance
