I will never understand why we would choose being rejected than to get our hands “dirty”! What’s wrong with being a - hairdresser - bricklayer - firefighter - gardener - bin collector - nurse - waiter - factory worker - builder - handyman - chef - engineer - etc. Why does everyone want to sit in offices then complain about how miserable their lives are? Staring at the computer is miserable and money only compensates for it for a while. There are plenty of jobs out there but if you rather sit in front of LinkedIn and be rejected 1800 times than go and do something useful the problem is with you not with the job market. The problem is also with your degree because it is useless, it gave you no skills and now you cannot be hired. So go out there, get your hands dirty and learn some skills. #vocational #degree

This is hospitality post strictly I see posts looking for entry level staff stewards , utility boys, housekeeping staff, drivers ,gardners, electricians, etc and I wonder how many would have got these positions filled from LinkedIn per say -kitchen utility boys/girls LinkedIn allows 26 langauges, mostly international, Hindi being one of them , and amazingly I personally haven't came across 1 post written in Hindi even for a driver or gardners position and as a basic demographic 80% of staff in hospitality are from grade 4 catatgory who can understand English, speak a little English, read English rarely and write nothing LinkedIn, unless allows vernacular languages as a medium of communication -and believe me it's very easy , can't get you entry level staff but for LinkedIn they are not their TA , as below 20k INR salary can't afford or would not be interested in premium subscription for 3500 INR I am trying to highlight 2 things you can't get entry level staff on LinkedIn and LinkedIn you need to do more if you want me to buy primium subscription it wouldn't be long LinkedIn becomes next blackberry CHANGE #hr, #LinkedIn,#entrylevelstaff,#hiring

AS A SGE LIFEGUARD WHAT SHOULD YOU KNOW ABOUT PREVENTION STRATEGY. Prevention is at the heart of your job. If you see dangerous or risky behavior, you can intervene and reduce the chance of an accident, Despite your best reasonable efforts,however accidents can happen, and you cant watch everyone all the time. you can't prevent accidents if patrons choose to disregard your warnings or don't use common sense, such as when caregivers leave children unattended, nonswimmers choose to enter the water without a life jacket, or people dive into shallow water where No diving signs are posted. in these instances, patron actions can cause an emergency. Rather than thinking that prevention is solely the job of the lifeguard, you and the facility managers where you work should focus on your mutual responsibility for implementing prevention strategies. Having a strategy implies that several layers of protection are in place, all designed to help reduce the chance of injury,illness, or drowning. Patron should share in this responsibility as well. Lack of Training or Certification: Cause: Lifeguards may not be adequately trained or certified in water rescue techniques, CPR, or other essential skills. Outcome: Inability to effectively respond to emergencies or administer life-saving measures. Poor Communication: Cause: Ineffective communication between lifeguards on duty can lead to confusion about responsibilities or delays in responding to emergencies. Outcome: Delays in rescues or improper coordination during emergency situations. Failure to Enforce Safety Rules: Cause: Lifeguards may neglect to enforce pool or beach safety rules, allowing unsafe behavior to go unchecked. I previously shared these thoughts on a professional group I belong to in Aquatics. I'm sharing it here because it resonated with so many in our Aquatics Safety Industry. Know when to leave. At least once a week I see an impassioned, pain filled post about the problems someone in our industry is experiencing at their employer. I won't recount all of those problems, we know what they are. I've been there. I spent four years at a place, at first just as a lifeguard, then as an Instructor and Area Supervisor. We had insane save volume due to our wave pool, plus a host of other challenges. I pointed out problems and got ignored. In the end, I probably should have left that place after my boss got fired in late 2017. But I didn't because I thought, "Maybe if I make the right argument, maybe if I use the right evidence, maybe if I lead by example, and maybe I can possibly reach those that aren't listening," things will change. Plus, there is the sense of obligation I felt to the guards and the guests. I did, however, finally leave. Or was forced out, there are different versions of the story. After I left, things got worse, and I used to beat myself up over that because I told myself, "Damn it, if only I had fought harder." But it wouldn't have made any difference. The people I was arguing with didn't see problems, they saw acceptable conditions, desirable design features, and lived with the blind faith that their certifications and training would save them. It didn't. You can't change those who will not listen. When the heart and mind are ablative to facts and evidence, you can not shift them. So you have a choice to make. If you stay, and by staying you are making a choice, you have to accept what you can't change and drop it. If you can not, or are unable to accept what you can't change, then the choice, painful as it may be, is very clear. You have to leave. These days, I'm pretty quick to leave a place if I am unheard. You might be worried that you'll get a "reputation." Yeah, maybe you will. I know I have one, I know exactly what I am on the box top. Anyway, if you are sitting in your office by the pool deck today wondering why you should keep doing what you are doing, and you are unheard, feel the place is unsafe, and that you are powerless to stop it, just know this. I know where you are at. It is okay to leave. It really is.
