I'm in the process of hiring my first full-time employee. A brand and graphic designer. SHFT Agency is growing (and glowing) up! Don't get me wrong. SHFT already has a team of 4. A mix of part-time employees and contractors, and #SassyJason. But this will be our first full-time employee. Which got me thinking about a part of branding most businesses miss. Employer branding. - what values will you hold? - what benefits will you provide? - what experience will you create? - what mission are you inviting them to be a part of? - what do you want employees to say about working for you? And the most important employee branding question: - why on earth should anyone choose to work for you? Your employees will often be your customers' first, middle, and last impressions of your business. Meaning: branding is just as much HR as marketing or operations. Create an epic employer brand. I’m hiring for a brand new position. Are you THE ONE? I’m looking for someone based in Toronto to help me shoot content on a weekly basis. I get asked all the time about who runs my social media. In the words of Taylor, it’s me! I write the posts, I film in the studio, I answer the DMs… guilty ✋. To me, social media is as much of a creative art as my art itself, and I prefer it to have control over that. It’s a TON of work, but truly, a labour of love. And I intend to keep it that way. What I DO need help with, though, is shooting constant footage, here, there, and everywhere, so that I have awesome material to post. My entire team works remotely, and I’d love to post more footage of them, of my printers and framers hard at work, and of my happy clients when they finally hang their new artwork. There’s only so much I can film on my own, not to mention the time and energy it takes to edit it all together… I love doing it, but it does take me away from the easel. I need a bright, resourceful, creative, brazen, wacky & awesome human, who will pick up artwork from my studio, and film it for me in cool and creative ways. If this is you, you’ll work with my art installer, printer, framer, and lord knows who else, to come up with engaging & ever evolving ways to film and photograph my work. You have a bold, magnetic personality and you’re not afraid to be seen and heard on camera. You’re silly, and you don’t embarrass easily. This is a part time role, with the potential to become full-time, depending on how much you contribute to the growth of this wild & crazy business. You’ll be joining a team of powerhouse women, all of whom are passionate about art and the creative process. We laugh a LOT.
