CHEERS OF JOY could be heard when I got the email announcing an offer for this week's 'candidate of the week'. The backstory- I worked with this candidate on a few previous positions and one of them, I still can't believe she didn't get. Why we should learn from her- She handled the entire process (including previous declines) with grace and persistence, leading to this offer. The good news- She is starting an MSL position in rare disease in January! Thursday, 8:13 AM: Hiring Manager: Follow-up conversation with candidate was good. We are on the same page. I think I’ll offer the position by the end of the week, or Monday. Me: If you’re going to offer him the position, why are you waiting two work days and the weekend?? This is setting the stage for someone else to swoop in between now and Monday. Sooner is always better. ================================================= This is a candidate friendly market for clinicians. More jobs available than there are clinicians to fill them. When you find one that likes you, and you like them…MAKE THE OFFER.
