Forecasting: Bottoms up vs Top down (a startup story). I like bottoms up forecasting. I like knowing the minutiae of where revenue will come from. It maps to investments, KPIs, etc. It's precise. And kinda also just a load of nonsense at a startup. Today I leaned into a top down forecast for Air Traffic Control — Personalize Any Marketing that gets us back into the captain's seat. And it looked... NUTS. But you start to whittle away. Refine. Think differently about how you can achieve aggressive numbers. 🎯 Target bigger accounts at higher price points (less deals needed!). ☠ Kill all product work that doesn't directly support the revenue sprint. 🎨 Design a sales demo and post-call motion (it's been informal to-date). And you just find a way. Strip away the complex math and just commit to something bold. Because this one goes to 11.
