In 2007, and again in 2011, billionaire Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos reportedly paid nothing in federal income taxes. In 2018, billionaire Tesla CEO Elon Musk reportedly did the same thing. That's according to confidential tax documents filed with the Internal Revenue Service obtained by ProPublica, which were revealed in a bombshell new report on some of the world's wealthiest people. Bezos is currently listed by Forbes as the richest person in the world, with a net worth of $188.8 billion. Musk isn't far behind at number two on the Forbes list, with a net worth of $153.3 billion. How do men with such dramatically high net worths avoid paying federal income tax? Billionaires like Jeff Bezos and Elon Musk derive little wealth from their annual income. Instead, much of their net worth is tied to stock holdings. The BBC News reached out to Chargeway recently asking if I would be available to share my thoughts on Elon Musk's ambitions within politics and how it impacts the EV industry and beyond. Click the link below for the full story. For me personally, while I have respected Musk's engineering and climate focused achievements for years, his new interests on influencing public discourse and our elections are a clear pivot to a personal mission instead of his often repeated corporate missions. This shift comes with very real consequences for him personally, loyalty to the brands he has built, the reputation of EVs, the livelihoods of those who work for his companies, and through aligning with Trump the political and social ramifications for us all. I see Musk and Trump's relationship as one of convenience that, based on all of the evidence, is serving themselves with the social media driven veneer of somehow serving the public good. The same could be said about politics from all angles, but Musk's involvement presents as far more brazen (ie: Handing out $1 million to random people who sign up for a super PAC, stating "X" would remain politically neutral, stating he would not support a political candidate). There is a great deal to unpack with this topic and I am interested to hear thoughts from others on how the EV industry (and those who make it possible) will continue to impact our society. #electricvehicles #electriccars #evcharging #charginginfrastructure #chargingstations #energy #energysector #utilities #utilityindustry #autosales #elonmusk #trump #election2024

**Cuban vs. Musk: A Billionaire Showdown over Trump and Loyalty** Billionaire Mark Cuban has fiercely warned Elon Musk about his unwavering support for former President Donald Trump. Musk's endorsements have raised concerns about the consequences of relying on Trump's often self-serving loyalty. The exchange highlights divisions in the tech and business communities over political affiliations. Cuban's position as a Harris surrogate contrasts with Musk's shift towards conservative stances. As the election intensifies, their public dispute reflects the influence of wealth, social media, and political power in modern America. The impact of their positions remains uncertain, but they add fuel to the ongoing political discourse. "Trump has the world’s richest man on his side. What does Musk want?" The 2024 election will be the most historic US in election history I believe. Many are questioning Elon Musk's motivation for this. The news story says many, but myself I am thinking far deeper and further ahead. Could Elon Musk be supporting Donald Trump, 1. To support his chosen political party? Yes of course Elon Musk is a Republican. 2. To help his companies become unstoppable forces in the business World, most probably. 3. Is Elon Musk working America in the way America works? Yes most definitely, every thing is for sale and everything and every one has their price as it appears. My deeper and further view on all this is I believe Elon Musk who as a person who I know a little to medium amount about I believe Elon Musk is a person who desires and requires deep personal goals to chase and achieve, it is who Elon Musk is and why he is the rishest man on Earth, wealthier than small countries. So with this all said I believe Elon Musk is firstly supporting Donald Trump because he wants Donald Trump and the Republican party to win, and 2. 2. One day Elon Musk will run for in an election just like Donald Trump is currently way in the future. By At least 2032 which will be at least another 2 elections after this election in November 2024, that we might see a 61 year old or a 65 year Elon Musk running to become the President of the United States of America. By 2032 or 2036 Elon Musk will likely of become the World's first Trillionaire and what do you do once you achieved the unthinkable? Run to become President of the United States of America which is the most powerfullest job in the World, and the best way to get started to follow in the footsteps of an ex-President who is trying to be re-elected President Donald Trump. I will say Elon Musk becoming President one day is what his ultimate goal here is that if he did ever decide to do this I do believe he would win as he is a very well liked man, what will Elon Musk do as a 69 year old or a 73 year old as he his not the type of person who will ever retire. That is the main question here, what is the next goal after the ultimate goal here on Earth? If you know the answer to that question please let me know so I can start working on that task instead ;) "Trump has the world’s richest man on his side. What does Musk want?"

Has Silicon Valley drawn a battle line between the political left and right? Where do your loyalties lie?" They say politics make strange bedfellows, and indeed it looks like that's precisely what's happened this weekend. Two tech giants, Elon Musk and Ben Horowitz are splintered in their political standpoints - each on opposing battlegrounds of the same field. While Musk took center stage at a Trump rally, surprising many of his followers with his new-found outspoken support for the Republican candidate, Horowitz did a 180-degree flip leaving people even more baffled. Known as an avid supporter of Trump in previous years, did anyone anticipate that Horowitz would jump ship mid-campaign? Reports suggest not! The venture capitalist once hailed as Trump's 'Silicon Valley guy' was noticeably absent from this weekend’s rally. His sudden exit from camp Trump has set tongues wagging around town. Horowitz's unexpected change of heart mirrors the growing unrest within Silicon Valley about its role and responsibilities during critical political contests. Some insiders have described this action-packed series of events as the beginning point for "a joltingly ideological split", an echo reverberating through America's tech capital! Unquestionably these unprecedented moves have sent shockwaves through Silicon Valley‘s network corridors and can be viewed as indicators toward broader implications about where tech loyalty might swing given future global politics’ parameters. So how does this split affect you personally? Could your loyalties to one or other products sway based on their creators' staunch political stances? Controversial scenarios such as these give us a chance to self-reflect in choosing our allegiance; to separate business nous from personal viewpoints or weigh our options based upon multifaceted perspectives provided by both entities.
