Nurdles may be the worst plastic pollution problem you've never heard of. Nurdles, also called plastic pellets, are lentil-sized microplastics that are used to manufacture all the other plastic "stuff" in our lives. Too often, companies dump or spill them into our waterways, and now 10 trillion are getting into our oceans every year. Birds, fish and turtles can mistake them for food, and they accumulate toxins harmful to people too. Environment America is proud to join the Clean Water Network, Waterkeeper Alliance and more than 150 clean water and environmental organizations around the country to urge Congress to pass the Plastic Pellet Free Waters Act to solve this problem: https://lnkd.in/gUdwAcFn.
