To have a hope in hell of bringing down Wild West property prices, Australia needs houses, terraces and apartment complexes. But they all have to go through development applications which take months and provide no guarantees. Wading through thousands of regs can ground projects before ground is even broken. A few weeks ago, in the middle of all of the holiday chaos, Citizen Codex released our first client project! Partnering with the Terner Center for Housing Innovation, we helped transform their amazing research into a fun, interactive tool that helps explain how policy decisions can impact housing finance. I learned a TON throughout this process, both about design and housing policy. And I'm so excited to keep on learning. - What a great user experience looks like. - How long an internal review cycle actually takes. - And what the heck is keeping us from building more housing that I can actually afford (I'm looking at you NYC 👀 ).
