It includes matters such as planning (for the congregation as a whole and for programs and events), financial oversight, facilities management, personnel issues (for paid staff and volunteers), operational policies, communication strategies, etc. This cohort will examine the foundation, focus, and functions of church administration. Designed by DRG Architects, in collaboration with the NYC School Construction Authority (SCA), this four-story addition will modernize and expand the school's capacity by relocating underserved programming spaces into innovative classrooms, all while preserving the charm of the existing structure. The design harmoniously blends old and new—pre-cast concrete and variegated terra-cotta tiles complement the original brickwork, creating a beautiful connection between the past and the future. The addition features: ✨ Creative & Spacious Classrooms – From science and art rooms to music and project-based learning spaces, students will have the tools they need to express their creativity. ✨ Welcoming Lobby – A bright, inviting connection point between the new and existing buildings, with natural light flooding through angular windows. ✨ Community-Focused Design – The ground floor will house essential spaces for the community, while the upper levels offer state-of-the-art educational facilities. ✨ Sustainable Features – Insulated precast concrete panels with terra-cotta embedded tiles add visual interest and sustainability, perfectly blending with the surrounding neighborhood. Did you know the last residential school closed in 1996? This history is hardly in the past. It's impacts continue to carry on today as the legacy weighs on all Indigenous people including the survivors, families, communities, and the memories of those lost. These schools took over 150,000 Indigenous children, many who never returned home. During this month there will be a surge of information flooding our timelines.
