As we embrace the holiday season at Allianz Commercial, I am thrilled to share the success of our first-ever Global Early Careers Holiday Mixer! This inaugural event brought together budding talents across the globe from our Apprentice and Graduate Programs for connection, collaboration, and cheer. The holiday spirit came to life with celebratory attire, fun virtual backgrounds and cheerful music. Despite the digital nature of the event, the warmth and joy of the season radiated through the screens. As we close out the year, I am excited about the continued collaboration and growth that will undoubtedly sprout from the connections made during this event. Allianz Commercial is committed to nurturing the talent and potential within our early careers community, and I look forward to a new year filled with exciting opportunities, shared achievements, and strong bonds!

"The Voyage program really spoke to me as it was such an established program, with so many stories of success coming from its participants. There are so many success stories that show how past Voyagers have gone on to become Department Managers, General Managers, and Regional Managers. You can't argue with the results!" - Kathryn Dodd Learn more about Kathryn's experience and how to apply for early career programs with Marriott. https://marr.in/6041kh50U #beginbelongbecome #beyou #marriottcareers #MarriottAdventure

🌟 Celebrating National Careers Week! 🌟 I tried to find a photo of my early days but sadly (thankfully) there were no smart phones in those days. We've all been there - starting a job at the local pub, just looking to earn some extra cash during A-levels or University. That's how my hospitality career started.... At 16 I started working at Regency Tea Rooms in Bromsgrove with my best friend. I earned £18 a week and got to choose a cake at the end of my Saturday shift 😋 When I turned 18 I started pulling pints 🍺 I made great friendships, had so much fun and developed fast thanks to the inspiring leadership of James Phillips - one of the best Managers I've ever had! From waitressing in France to countless hospitality jobs whilst at Uni I finally came to work in Head Office at Mitchells & Butlers PLC in 2010. With the support of another memorable Manager and mentor Chris Collings, I was lucky enough to get on to our Operations Graduate Scheme in 2012 and now find myself back in HR after some years living abroad. I honestly can't imagine working for any other hospitality company - M&B are simply the best! ✨ Here's why hospitality is an amazing career choice: ✅ Diverse Career Paths: From Operations to Marketing, HR to Finance, Property, and beyond - the possibilities are endless. ✅ Skills Development: You'll hone communication, problem-solving, time management, teamwork, and resilience - essential skills for any career. ✅ Evolving Industry: Constantly innovating, requiring creativity and fresh ideas. ✅ Learning & Development: Whether through graduate schemes, apprenticeships, coaching, or mentoring, there are ample opportunities to grow. I've personally experienced the diversity and rewards of this industry, thanks to Mitchells & Butlers. For more about working at Mitchells & Butlers and our job opportunities, visit https://lnkd.in/eyNDKfNk Go on - You won't regret it!! 🤩 #LifeAtMAB #NationalCareersWeek

50% of our Q1 interns graduated few months ago. The other 50% graduated several years back. None of them studied cyber security in college but they all have now fully joined the cyber army. Jamaal Raheem and Princess Ugwokaegbe here are in the latter group of interns who graduated many years ago. They both took a pay cut to join the program and I can say their career switch is well and truly on! Now they know how much that was worth it. Last week, while conducting the final interviews for our Q2 applicants, I came across two highly impressive individuals like Jamaal and Princess (i.e. those identifying as he/him & she/her) who were desperate to get picked. I decided against that idea 💡 because these individuals, with 10 or more years of experience under their belts in different fields, are easily in the top 3% of earners in the country. If you’re already making CISO level salaries in other fields, it just might not be the best idea to go all the way back to the base of the ladder in another field. As they say though, love is blind and a true passion that burns within your soul is one that can never be put out. I have committed to meeting these individuals (in person) in months to come to see how I can help translate their desire into outcome. Back to Jamaal Raheem and Princess Ugwokaegbe , I am glad to see their competence and confidence levels shoot through the roof several weeks into the program. For ones who didn’t study anything close to cyber security in college, these individuals, like their co-interns, have really impressed me. Oh! What am I even saying? I didn’t study anything close to cyber security in college either. In my days, when you heard the word, “cyber” you know they’re talking about Internet café. 😁 https://lnkd.in/gRtHT7Ui

Dear Employer, Give employees opportunities to learn about different roles For entry-level employees or career changers, develop a mentorship and job shadowing program to give them hands-on experience in leadership positions. Ask them which higher-level roles they’d like to pursue. Then work with leadership members to set up programs for team members to shadow executives, learn new skills and ask in-depth questions about the role. This motivates your employees to pursue their goals. It also helps them decide if they want to work toward a different position within the company instead. Another option is to start a job rotation program that lets employees shift to different roles occasionally to learn their daily tasks, gain new skills and understand how the company functions. Whether small or big brand, treat employees right, this helps keep them encouraged in a different way to map the brand a priority. Best Regards, Dr.Mummie

The Second Class Of Kerusso Interns In Partnership With Winston-Salem State University - More Diamonds Today, we completed our second class of Kerusso interns in partnership with Winston-Salem State University with a luncheon and presentation of three companies – Pepsico, Diageo, and JD Sports. The interns covered these companies using Kerusso’s investment analysis approach of SWOT – Strength, Weaknesses, Opportunities, and Threats – applied to the four key building blocks of a company – Strategy, Management, Operations and Financials. Each intern did a great job and, most importantly, went away with academic credit as well as confidence that they have the ability to analyze companies in a professional manner. Perhaps, one or more will seek to pursue a career in financial services and/or investment management because of this experience. We are looking forward to the next class as we continue to seek out more diamonds to reveal to the world.
