McLean Contracting Company’s Post

Check out this cool video! On June 15th, we successfully flipped the SC146 barge in the water to enable our welding crews to repair over 500 square feet of bottom plating. This was accomplished using the Baltimore and Jamestown and five support tugs, along with crews from the Baltimore Yard. Originally a single-skinned tank barge, the SC146 has been transformed into a 250'x50x12x deck barge. Once repairs are complete, she'll get a fresh coat of paint and be rolled over to rejoin the fleet. Stay tuned for updates on the impressive project! #bargeflip #fleetupgrade

I saw that barge in Baltimore and thought to myself, that’s one way to replace bottom plating.

Nothing new for McLean. Reskinned a few barges during my time there.
