The Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, Built Environment and Information Technology (EBIT), Prof Wynand Steyn, believes that while technology is the catalyst for change, humans are the sustaining force. This means that we need to develop new mindsets and find new ways of working while consciously making an effort to understand the human being in its totality. If we want to make a difference in our communities and the world, we need to create and discover new knowledge. We can't work and live in silos. We need each other to innovate our tomorrow. The various careers the Faculty of EBIT offers are for everyone and therefore we want to be a part of your world so that you understand how much we have in common. You need our specialists in technology, our engineers, and our built environment professionals as much as we need your talents to build a better and more sustainable world. www.up.ac.za/ebit #innovation #arts #technology #IT #study #education #builtenvironment #humanbeing #difference #communities #change #knowledge #EBITrocks #UniversityOfPretoria

【Virtual versus In-Person Case-Based Learning for Lower Year Courses in Engineering Technology Education】 Full article: https://lnkd.in/gJw3wfkW (Authored by Faiez Alani, et al., from McMaster University, Canada.) Multiple studies have shown that #case_based_learning (CBL) has helped in increasing student motivation and course performance, in addition to student learning and understanding. This study compares the effectiveness of CBL based on the two methods of delivery, online/virtual or in-person, in two different undergraduate engineering technology courses offered at McMaster University. #Engineering_Education #Case_Study #Biotechnology
