Our McNamara • Salvia family is proud to honor Partner Benjamin Wild, P.E., and his wife Stephanie Wild (who also happens to be one of our Marketing Managers) in supporting their 9-year-old daughter Charlize, aka ‘Charli’. Due to the incredible help of our great Boston institutions – Boston Children's Hospital and Dana-Farber Cancer Institute – Charli was able to beat her rare form of pediatric ovarian cancer. Now Charli can be a kid again, and designing buildings for Boston Children’s Hospital hits closer than ever to our firm’s heart! ❤️ WILD TOGETHER ❤️

🎇 September is when we #gogold for Pediatric Cancer Awareness! My niece, Vara, was diagnosed with Wilms Tumor at the age of 9. Eight years later, she's cancer-free, and for that, we are incredibly grateful—to her mother, her medical team and her incredible community. To say her strength, courage, and spirit are inspiring could never do justice to her experiences as a pediatric cancer patient, as a child with a terrifying, life-threatening disease. Today, she shares her story to raise awareness, encourage research, and promote philanthropy—an act of bravery in and of itself. You can catch a glimpse of her infectious personality in the video linked below - she's is as hilarious and special as described and just about the coolest person I know. I hold the experiences of families very close, when I think about Pediatric Cancer. Diagnosis and treatment can be so isolating and it’s difficult to describe the experience and longer-term effects to those who aren't a part of it or don't want to understand because its just too much to process. Organizations like Team Impact play a pivotal role, not only by creating wonderful experiences for these kids but also by helping communities understand, empathize, and embrace these remarkable young individuals and their families. And I hope these experiences help people see what a difference it can make when we reach out to people impacted by illness and the longer-term health and social impacts, often unseen, childhood cancer can create. We honor all of the kids and families impacted by pediatric cancer this month, and every month. Let’s continue to find safe and effective treatments that provide hope to families impacted by these horrible illnesses. #PediatricCancerAwareness #TeamImpact

September is Pediatric Cancer Awareness month. As many of you know I wear Gold shoes every day to raise awareness. Today I am sharing a video from Team Impact and the teammates who nationally have kids impacted by cancer on their team. Their support has been invaluable for my daughter, Vara. So thankful Vara is cancer free at this time, and thinking of all we have lost along the way and honoring them today and in September. Let's honor those who have lost their battle and continue to fight for a cure. #PediatricCancerAwareness #TeamImpact #GoldShoesForKids

“Awareness is the ultimate weapon; unlike others, it’s wielded to save lives.” Time truly flies. It feels like just yesterday when I, as an NCC Cadet at NIT Tiruchirappalli, began working for Breast Cancer Awareness in 2022. Today, looking back at these three incredible years, I feel immense pride in the lives we’ve touched and the impact we have created overall. This initiative was born out of necessity and compassion—after the tragic and heartbreaking loss of our senior cadet to breast cancer. We realized the urgency of spreading awareness about early detection and empowering women to take control of their health. A-flight NCC, along with ‘The Lakshya’ symposium, organizes yearly awareness drives, educational sessions, and free thermogram/mammogram check-ups, ensuring that no story goes unheard and no life is left unsupported. Breast cancer is the most common cancer globally today. When detected early, it is often treatable. However, the lack of awareness and access to screening means that countless women continue to suffer in silence. Particularly in India, the social stigma around even speaking about breast cancer makes the situation even worse. Our awareness sessions are not just campaigns; they are lifelines that encourage individuals to prioritize their health and seek timely intervention when in need, no matter what. This year, we’ve witnessed: # Around 150 women of NIT Trichy took bold steps for their health by screening for Breast Cancer # 15 Detections of presumed early-stage breast cancer have fortunately been directed towards further tests and steps to save their lives. # Greater participation and willingness to discuss an often-stigmatized topic. I firmly believe that initiatives like these are stepping stones to a healthier society and humanity where no one has to face such battles alone. As I reflect on this journey, I feel grateful to have been part of such a meaningful cause alongside my NCC Cadet peers, My NCC seniors for guiding us on this positive cause, and NIT Trichy’s vibrant community. To everyone out there: Social responsibility is not a one-time endeavour but a lifelong commitment to making a positive impact in whatever possible way. #BreastCancerAwareness #NITTrichy #NCCCadets #SocialResponsibility #HealthAwareness #CommunityImpact #EarlyDetection #MakingADifference
Hope is the strength that drives us to fight, and early detection is the key to victory.” In memory of Late Ex-Cadet Sergeant Anjali Anil, the Breast Cancer Awareness Programme, an initiative by the cadets of A-Flight NCC, was conducted to honour her legacy. We recognized the resilience and perseverance of breast cancer survivors and victims, while successfully educating and raising awareness among the people on our campus. Together, we stand united in the fight against breast cancer.
