Anseye Pou Ayiti (APA) is revolutionizing education in Haiti by shaping a new generation of leaders. Nedgine Paul Deroly, CEO and Co-Founder, and Jean-Claude Brizard, Founding Board Chair, are both proud Haitians and #McNultyPrize Winners. They witnessed how the Haitian education system, deeply influenced by the French colonial legacy, ignored local language and Haiti’s proud history and culture; creating a divide between classroom and community and stifling homegrown leadership. Through fellowships and leadership development for teachers, parents, and principals, APA's innovative approach is decolonizing the education system and recentering Haitian identity, impacting not just students, but the whole community. This holistic shift is driving both community and national transformation while seeding a new generation of civic leaders. Learn more: https://lnkd.in/eaYtfB7T

Pauline Essah, PhD from Education Sub Saharan Africa (ESSA) is facilitating a panel on #research on school leadership in Africa at our ongoing African Centre for School Leadership conference. 📚 Research on school leadership is critical for Africa's educational future 🌍 In many African countries, school leadership plays a pivotal role in shaping learning outcomes and wellbeing. Yet, despite its significance, research on school leadership in Africa remains underexplored. Investing in high-quality research on school leadership can unlock strategies that improve teaching and learning, empower educators, and foster inclusive, resilient education systems. Evidence-based insights can guide policy reforms, professional development programs, and leadership practices that address the unique challenges faced by schools across the continent. With initiatives like the African Centre for School Leadership (ACSL), we are making strides in this area. Through collaboration and context-relevant research, we aim to equip school leaders with the skills and knowledge to drive impactful change—ensuring that every learner, regardless of where they live, can access a quality education. #sdg4 #acsl

Nurturing new leaders Leadership Without Borders, now 10 years old, empowers and serves undocumented students on campus. When you're an undocumented student, nearly every step of your college journey is a challenge. Juggling essays, transcripts, financial aid, school tours and choosing a major, you’re also navigating immigration policies and risking exposing your citizenship status. It’s a time when students need a resource, and 10 years ago, the UW’s Leadership Without Borders program formed to fill that need. https://lnkd.in/g2RCdvBt
