🌟 The Power of Kangaroo Care in the NICU 🌟 In the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), every moment and interaction counts for our tiniest patients. One incredibly effective practice that has proven to be a game-changer is kangaroo care. 👶 What is Kangaroo Care? Kangaroo care involves holding a premature or low-birth-weight infant skin-to-skin, chest-to-chest. This close contact helps stabilize the baby's heart rate, improve breathing patterns, and enhance weight gain. 💖 Why is it Important? Bonding: Enhances the emotional bond between parents and their newborns. Health Benefits: Supports thermoregulation, reduces stress and pain for the baby, and promotes better sleep. Development: Encourages neurological development and can lead to better long-term outcomes. Breastfeeding: Facilitates more successful breastfeeding experiences. The beauty of kangaroo care lies in its simplicity and profound impact. Let's continue to champion and support this practice, ensuring every newborn receives the best start in life. #Neonatology #KangarooCare #NICU #PrematureBabies #NeonatalCare #HealthcareInnovation

#WednesdayWisdom As a childbirth educator, you understand the importance of providing emotional and physical support to the families you work with. Intrapartum nurses are essential in providing this type of support during labor, leading to better birth outcomes, lower cesarean rates, and reduced anesthesia use. A recent quality improvement project demonstrated the positive impact of educating and training these nurses in labor support techniques. Surveys indicated that post-education, nurses felt more confident in employing evidence-based labor comfort strategies to honor a woman’s labor preferences. Stay informed and dive deeper into these findings in the latest issue of The Journal of Perinatal Education: https://bit.ly/3Ahw6C9

Business Development Manager at Magstim | Eastern Region | USA | Passionate About TMS Applications in Neuromodulation and Clinical Medicine | Experienced Endocannabinoid Researcher
Having more psychiatric nurse practitioners (PNPs) can be vital toward addressing the demand for mental health services that has skyrocketed in recent years. The National Institute of Mental Health reports that one in five American adults lives with a mental illness. With this rapid increase, the need for qualified, advanced practice nursing working in the mental health sector has become critical (NP Advantage). PNPs can positively influence healthcare outcomes in several ways: 1. Addressing gaps in mental healthcare relating to accessibility, affordability, and quality of care. 2. Addressing social determinants of health. 3. Clinical therapy skills of PNPs range from talk therapy to cognitive-behavioral therapy, and other forms of psychotherapy (NP Advantage). If you are a PNP in Connecticut and Rhode Island, please don't hesitate to reach out to me about transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS)! Magstim has worked with many NPs to incorporate TMS in clinics and positively impact patients' lives to help reduce depression and OCD symptoms! Thank you NP Advantage for providing the information about the importance of PNPs in the United States. #neuroscience #neuromodulation #TMS #nursepractitioners
We are proud to celebrate our NPs this Nurses Week, May 6 - 12, 2024. 2 Clinician insertions are a crucial first few steps for beginner inserters. It allows for growth in comradery but also acts as a resource for each other. When we have the needle in your hand you're busy executing, sometimes you need someone to pull back and consider alternative solutions when troubleshooting. This will help decrease errors with beginner inserters or complicated cases. Unfortunately not all institutions value this or know to figure out how to afford it. #vascularaccess #doctor #nurse
