Yesterday, the SmartX Innovation Hub hosted a webinar focused on Smart Textile Components. The session was moderated by Dr. Daniela Zavec and began with our Project Manager Judith Bosch discussing the upcoming activities for the Innovation Hub in Q3 and Q4 of 2024 🚀 🔬 claude labro and Raphael Vuillaume from MCVE Technologie then discussed the future of mass production for smart composites, highlighting the integration of functions. They also introduced a new innovation: printing circuitry directly into composite fabrics. 🧵 Afterwards, Bernd Schäfer from bäumlin & ernst ag (beag) presented the primary processes used at beag for covering yarns. He highlighted the properties of conductive yarns and showcased their interesting applications in the textile industry. 👩⚕️ Next, Bruno Mougin from MDB TEXINOV discussed technical warp-knitted textiles and polypropylene melt blown non-woven materials for medical and industrial applications, highlighting their innovative techniques and performance-enhancing properties. 💡 Finally, Mattia Alberto Lucchini from Datwyler Group shared his vision on smart wearables, highlighting their diverse functions and applications. He explained how their electrodes can acquire bio-signals, allowing wearables to deliver excellent performance without sacrificing comfort. Curious to learn more?
