Transitions can be exciting, nerve-wracking, and incredibly vulnerable times. All of the questions about what's next and mixed feelings about how to move forward can consume you, leaving very little room for gratitude in reflection. I was looking through an old journal entry chronicling the end of my time a decade ago with UScellular a wonderful company that had a tremendous influence on my personal and professional coming-of-age. I smiled and felt reassured about my current transitional moment when I found these words. While necessary endings are rarely fun or voluntary, memorializing the lessons from your journey can be a springboard of confidence into your future. Are you jumping (or being pushed) into new territory? Take a moment to write down what you’ve learned and will keep with you as you move forward.

Picture this: It was a scorching August day, move-in day, a mix of excitement and nerves hung thick in the air. As I navigated the sea of boxes, coordinating the hustle and bustle of eager students and their families, we faced an unexpected challenge – a computer glitch had left our move-in lists in digital limbo! Cue the collective gasp from our team. Panic set in, but in that moment, I witnessed something extraordinary. Our RAs, armed with walkie-talkies and an unwavering spirit, sprang into action. They improvised, collaborated, and transformed what could have been a disaster into an unforgettable bonding experience. We juggled room assignments, improvised check-in processes, and laughed in the face of chaos. The "Great Move-In Miracle," as we affectionately dubbed it, not only set the tone for a resilient team but also laid the foundation for a year of unexpected triumphs. As we embark on this 30-day journey, I want to hear your stories! Share the challenges you faced, the team moments that defined you, and the unexpected victories that shaped your Res Life journey. #ResLife #Day1Chronicles #MoveInMiracle #TeamSpirit #ResLifeStories #ResLife #Memories #CommunityLiving #30DaysOfStories #linkedinjourney #residencelife #reslife #housing #collegelife #highereducation #highered #professionaldevelopment #university #studentaffairs #saas

May marks National Recommitment Month, a time set aside to remind us of the importance of stepping back, reflecting on our goals, and recommitting to our aspirations and dreams. It's a unique moment to not just renew but to enhance our dedication to personal and professional growth. In the fast-paced world we live in, it's easy to get derailed from the ambitions we've set for ourselves at the beginning of the year. Life throws curveballs, priorities shift, and sometimes, we may find ourselves off the path we originally intended to follow. That's why National Recommitment Month is so vital—it offers us a dedicated period to reconnect and refocus our actions with our objectives, ensuring that we're not merely moving, but moving forward with integrity and purpose. 🎯 This month, I encourage you to reflect and recommit. Ask yourself: 🌱Have I made progress towards my goals this year? 🧗♂️ What obstacles have I encountered, and how can I overcome them? But most importantly, ask, “Are my targets still aligned with my overarching mission and values?” 💡 I'd love to hear from you: What are you recommitting to? Share your thoughts and aspirations in the comments below. 💬

You might already know or have heard that on January 5th, 2024, I became a mother for the second time and had a daughter named Eva. Today, I want to celebrate all mothers out there, especially those who face difficulties in returning to work because of their skills list. Have you ever felt like you had to justify being "just a mom" when someone asked about your profession? I understand this feeling, even though I have several professional titles and additional certifications. Especially now that I am spending a lot of time at home with my newborn, I tend to feel small and underestimate myself. I work with many women who have been stay-at-home moms and are now returning to their careers. They often feel lost, thinking that they lack the skills to take on high-level positions. Women tend to make their skills and talents invisible to others, including themselves. I asked myself this question and realized that I have many skills that companies would value. Here are some professions that most moms do but don't think of as skills: Cook: Women are mostly responsible for feeding their families. Housekeeper: While taking care of the kids and spouse, cleaning is mostly on you. Laundryman: Or should I say, Laundrywoman? With four family members, including a husband who does landscaping, a toddler who I think helps my husband part-time, and a newborn, I have at least 6-7 loads every week. My empty laundry basket happiness usually lasts less than 5 seconds. Personal Grocery Shopper: Do you like to go to Walmart? I honestly do not so much. Once you walk into the door, it feels like a black hole that sucks you in for at least 1-2 hours, and you have to do it every week, if not sometimes a few times a week. Now, professions and roles that we do not think of right away and that are way more demanding than we think: Click below to read more! Check out my blog post https://wix.to/VAkuxhv
