Elucidating the underlying molecular alterations in Alzheimer’s Disease (AD) pathology is essential for understanding disease mechanisms and developing effective therapeutic interventions. Multiplexed imaging techniques such as MERFISH have emerged as powerful tools for comprehensive molecular and cellular profiling at single-cell resolution. Download our poster presented by Dr. Bin Wang, PhD at SFN 2023 to learn how we used MERSCOPE Protein CO-detection to study the spatial distribution of biomarkers and cellular heterogeneity of a normal aging human brain sample and a human AD brain sample: https://lnkd.in/etzgf5NF #SFN23 #Vizgen #MERSCOPE #MERFISH #SpatialTranscriptomics #SpatialGenomics #Neuroscience #BrainScience #CellAtlas #AlzheimersDisease #SpatialData #DataAnalysis #ProteinCoDetection #SpatialMultiomics

https://lnkd.in/eMK84xK4 Happy to share my 1st author publication from Kessen Patten Lab. We developed an ImageJ macro called “NMJ Analyser” to automatically and unbiasedly analyse NMJ morphology in zebrafish. It can enable high-throughput NMJ phenotypic screens in the drug discovery process for NMDs. We have equipped it with advanced mode which could also be further applied to the investigation of NMJ or other puncta/point staining of other developmental systems. #zebrafish #neuroscience #neuromuscular #dataanalysis #bioinformatics

Did you miss our presentation on the diagnosis of Alzheimer’s disease pathology using a novel blood-based assay? Watch an on-demand presentation from Henrik Zetterberg, PhD, and Kaj Blennow, PhD, for a deep dive into how the ALZpath novel plasma pTau217 immunoassay identifies abnormal amyloid-ß and tau pathologies at various clinical stages from plasma samples. Topics they covered include: • The results obtained from Wisconsin’s Registry for Alzheimer's Prevention (WRAP) in relation to pTau217 and the practical aspects of high-throughput sample analysis • pTau217’s superior solo performance compared to pTau217/non-pTau212-221 ratio • The advancements in developing an easy-to-use, highly accurate blood-based AD test Watch on-demand today: https://hubs.li/Q02nqBJd0 #pTau217 #Alzheimers #neuroscience #ClinicalResearch #AlzheimersDisease #AlzheimersResearch #AlzheimersAssociation #AlzheimersSociety #diagnostics #biomarkers

Cellular models of neurodegenerative diseases play an integral role in preclinical drug discovery, and safety studies. Patient iPSC-derived dopamine neurons along with Multi-Electrode Array (MEA) assay provide a useful platform to investigate functional phenotypes both at the individual neuron and network levels. CRL now offers testing of small molecules aimed at reversing pathophysiology linked with cellular models of neurodegenerative diseases. #alhumdulillah I'm thrilled to announce the publication of our manuscript, "Autophagy-associated non-coding RNAs: Unraveling their impact on Parkinson's disease pathogenesis," in CNS Neuroscience & Therapeutics (Impact Factor: 5.5). This study explores the critical role of non-coding RNAs in regulating autophagy processes, offering new insights into their potential as therapeutic targets for Parkinson's disease. Our findings highlight the complex interplay between these RNAs and the pathogenesis of Parkinson's, opening avenues for novel treatment strategies. A great thanks to all the co-authors (Professors) Mahamedha D., sachin singh, Kamal Dua, Vetriselvan Subramaniyan, Ph.D., FMSA., Access the full manuscript here: https://lnkd.in/gGDgy5p5 #Neuroscience #ParkinsonsDisease #Autophagy #NonCodingRNAs #Research #OpenAccess #CNSNeuroscienceTherapeutics

Researchers observed increased expression of neuroprotective genes related to proteostasis, phagocytosis, and protein clearance in astrocytes and microglia, suggesting their crucial role in responding to amyloid-beta and pTau pathology in Alzheimer's disease (AD). The identification of distinct sub-clusters within these cells, along with coordinated functionality of AD biomarkers like CLU in astrocytes and GPNMB in microglia, provides insights into the complex molecular mechanisms of the disease.
