I am thrilled to share that I have been honored with an Elsevier Reviewing Award for my contributions to the peer review process. 🤗
As a newcomer to the realm of scientific research, I have always strived to maintain the integrity and quality of my scientific reports, a commitment essential for anyone in academia. This foundation has greatly assisted me in embracing the tasks of a reviewer with realism, which rests on three basic considerations, as follows:
- Understanding the potential flaws in early versions of manuscripts without being overly critical, always empathizing with the first author's perspective. 🙂
- Ensuring the research is presented appropriately, with a keen focus on its main objectives. 🔍
- Evaluating whether the employed methodology justifies the stated results. The formulation and mathematics should be sufficient for the task at hand, with unnecessary complexity flagged as a concern. 😤
- Last but not least, the research question and the subsequent results must demonstrate a significant degree of innovation, necessity, and progress in the related field.
These are the critical questions I ponder, guaranteeing that the peer review process maintains the highest standards of scientific inquiry. #PeerReview #Research #Academia

2moMDPI!!!!!!! This is so disheartening going through all the list of outstanding reviewer awards and finding only one reviewer from African origin or affiliated to African institution. The skewness is obvious. We have Africans that are MDPI reviewers and editors. One African reviewer made the list in all categories. African reviewers, we are getting more slots next time by the grace of God!!!
