Last Sunday we had the NRL grand final, and a great game it was. One thing I really took away from it was the press conference afterwards with the losing coach Craig Bellamy, and what could have easily gone into a slinging match of shoulda, coulda didn't. He held himself extremely professionally, particularly as there was an incident that could have swung the match and changed the outcome, but his response to this was, "It doesn't matter what I think. We can only control what we can control". No amount of him kicking the dirt or complaining will change the result. It was a very stoic approach, and very impressive considering what had just happened, and he said that is a philosophy that Melbourne has at their core, and he demonstrated that perfectly. We have to understand, that doesn't mean we don't go out and try things and push the limit. It means we train hard, practice with professionalism, and stack the deck, so when things happen, we can't control, it is more likely to fall in our direction. #lifelessons #motivation #growth #sports #personalgrowth #speaker #eventmanagers
