Link to article: https://lnkd.in/dRmR4CR4 Learned helplessness, a psychological condition wherein individuals feel powerless to change their circumstances due to persistent adverse conditions, can be insidiously instilled in a population by a government. When a government employs persistent abuses, it can strip citizens of their sense of agency, making them feel that resistance or change is futile. Recognizing the signs of such manipulation is crucial for fostering resilience and advocating for change. Here’s how to identify when a government is instilling learned helplessness in its citizenry: 1. Erosion of Civil Liberties A primary indicator is the systematic erosion of civil liberties. When governments enact laws or policies that curtail freedom of speech, assembly, and the press, they aim to stifle dissent and control public discourse. Citizens may feel that voicing their opinions or protesting against injustices is dangerous or pointless. 2. Widespread Corruption and Impunity When corruption becomes rampant and public officials act with impunity, it creates a sense of futility among the populace. If citizens see that corrupt practices go unpunished and that legal recourse is ineffective, they may believe that the system is beyond redemption and their efforts to seek justice are in vain... #mentalhealthmatters #mentalhealthsupport #mentalillness #mentalhealthadvocate #mentalwellness #toxicsociety #MentalFitness #Corruption #corruption #corruptioneverywhere

THE DANGER OF NORMALIZING UNACCEPTABLE BEHAVIOR IN OUR STATE GOVERNANCE For me, democracy is about leveraging broader citizen participation to continually improve the well-being of all. If we can't guarantee this, there's little justification for maintaining our current governance system. Unfortunately, due to the lack of quality leadership and the ease with which state privileges are abused for personal gain, we now have individuals of questionable character aspiring to lead us. It is shameful and unacceptable to legitimize the unpardonable actions of those who, through their behavior, have shown they are willing to harm us to further their own interests. This growing trend not only undermines the integrity of our democratic institutions but also erodes public trust. When those in power are more focused on enriching themselves than serving the people, democracy itself is at risk. This makes it difficult, if not impossible, to deliver essential services—such as safely managed sanitation—to our people. We must demand accountability, reject corrupt leadership, and reclaim the true purpose of governance: to serve the well-being of all citizens. If we don't take a stand, we risk normalizing the very behaviors that threaten our collective future. #SanitationForAll #AccountabilityNow #LeadershipMatters #RejectCorruption #RestoreDemocracy #citizensforchange #EndCorruption

"The violations have caused serious consequences that are difficult to undo. They have created risks of causing massive damage to the State's money and assets and wasting national resources. They have caused controversy and harmed the reputation of the State and Party organizations. Disciplines therefore are necessary." the Central Inspection Committee said in a release Wednesday afternoon.
