An important aspect of building a strong organizational culture and work environment is looking for ways to raise the integrity/character bar of the service provided by the organization. This sometimes comes in the form of community service, innovative and humane enhancements to operations and creating opportunities for employees to participate in and grow within their careers. The citizens we serve want us to be the very best! Why not choose to build the integrity of the organization from within by implementing opportunities for character and personal growth? Heck, the employees may just want to stay! @LeadershipfromtheInside #LeadershipfromtheInside #BuildingCharacterinPeople

What a morning Julian and I had this week! My favorite part were the great big hugs only a five year old can deliver! A great reminder that our days don’t always arrive as expected; however if you stay open you can find the gifts in the unexpected! #fireinside #leadershipdevelopment #leadershipcoaching #teamcoaching #opentogifts
Earlier this week, Fire Inside Leadership's Sandi and Julian had the joy of facilitating with a team that truly practices inclusion. No child care? No problem! We were thrilled to have a little team member join us! She brought so much positivity and energy to our work, playing quietly by herself while sharing plenty of hugs with her fellow teammates.

“It's with drops of water that we fill bottles.” Deirdre Forte, HR Manager at Kersia in Ireland, is certain that being a catalyst for change isn't a competition; it's a mindset. It involves small actions – like a smile or a kind word – that can make a big difference. Inspired by her experiences during the COVID pandemic, Deirdre recognized the importance of #empathy and #connection in both personal and professional settings. By creating a more inclusive workplace, Deirdre helps others feel valued and encourages them to take risks without fearing failure. The results speak for themselves: Deirdre's intrapreneurial initiative has led to stronger ties with local schools, mentorship opportunities for students in her company, and a renewed sense of belonging among staff. By investing in the next generation, Deirdre’s commitment to fostering a culture of kindness and inclusivity is a reminder that we can all be #changemakers in our communities, and our workplaces. How are you making a difference? Read Deirdre’s story here and share your own! 👇 https://lnkd.in/d7mQ-t7z

This image caught our eye - look at how much is below the surface. This giant space of the inner world which is impacting how we address not only community and culture but also how we feel about ourselves, our work and our relationships around us from our bosses to the company itself. We often forget that to build culture or improve learning outcomes or just to have a happier more productive workforce we need to help our teams and talent to understand what might be going on below the surface - even hidden to themselves. HR and L&D teams - if your suppliers aren't helping you navigate the waters below you need to ask why. This is beyond the AI discussion and better curation or just giving support to senior individuals - it's about having the right powerful tools that have been designed to work at scale across your organisation that helps unlock access to this world below and help people through the challenges or blockers that might be holding back the space for culture and teams to flourish - ultimately helping your companies evolve healthier. Thanks Lara Sheldrake for sharing such a powerful image! #companyculture #learninganddevelopment #scale #HR
Building communities for brands who give a sh*t 💡Founder | Speaker | Events host 🗞️ Ft in Forbes, Marie Claire, Techround+
Ever heard of the iceberg model? Much like the Iceberg Model of Culture crafted by anthropologist Edward T. Hall, our journey in cultivating a flourishing community within an organisation reveals layers of effort, time, and energy that lie beneath the surface. As community builders, business owners and thought leaders, it's up to us to explore these hidden depths. We need to understand how what's visible and what's not work together to create a strong and inclusive environment that fosters real connection and innovation. This is where the magic happens ✨ So, what do you think? What other layers would you add to our community-building iceberg? Grateful to Rose Radtke and Nia Martinez-Rangel for bringing this concept to my attention.

Yesterday, the Culture & Inclusion Council at #HowardHughes brought us together for the first installment of the 2024 speaker series. We were joined by Priya Parker to talk about her book "The Art of Gathering" and how it relates to our purpose at Howard Hughes Holdings Inc. as community builders. 👇 A few things from the talk that I walked away with 👇 1. 𝗗𝗲𝗳𝗶𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮 𝗰𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗿 𝗽𝘂𝗿𝗽𝗼𝘀𝗲 or intention behind every gathering, whether it's a professional meeting or a social event, can make it so much more meaningful. 2. Thoughtfully 𝗱𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗴𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗱𝘆𝗻𝗮𝗺𝗶𝗰𝘀 and experiences of gatherings (with elements such as format, venue, activities, and personal interactions) can encourage strong engagement and help create meaningful connections. 3. 𝗣𝗿𝗶𝗼𝗿𝗶𝘁𝗶𝘇𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗶𝗻𝗰𝗹𝘂𝘀𝗶𝘃𝗶𝘁𝘆 when planning gatherings, creating environments where everyone feels welcome, valued, and heard, makes gatherings more enriching and transformative for everyone involved. #lifeathh #hhcares #corporateculture #workplaceculture #placemaking #community #gathering
