Tired of dealing with the limitations of traditional cell culture systems? ⬇ Achieving a successful seed train is crucial for consistent and reproducible results, essential for subsequent therapeutic production steps. Expanding adherent cells often necessitates transitioning from initial cultivation vessels to systems with larger growth surfaces, typically accompanied by significant adjustments in the cultivation process. Our CellScrew® system offers a solution for transitioning from small-scale to large-scale cell cultivation, maintaining a consistent environment within a compact design. The new CellScrew® mini expands this capability, allowing for effortless scaling up and down between a growth surface of 850 cm² and 10,000 cm² to meet your exact needs. Streamline your cell culture workflow with our innovative system, starting with our CellScrew® mini bundle of three flasks. #adherentcells #cellscrew #scaleup #cellexpansion #biotech

Today we are excited to announce our partnership with Synonym. The partnership breaks new ground for how companies of all sizes can model, prove out, de-risk, and scale up functional, biobased products using precision fermentation which are better for people and planet. It is a match made to fast track bioproduct launches and fuel the U.S. bioeconomy. Our inaugural project together - iPROOF – is planned at Primient’s Decatur, IL campus and includes re-commissioning and upgrading existing fermentation assets at the site as well as expanding current capacity. Once completed, the facility will offer comprehensive wrap-around services for companies to prove out concepts through to commercial scale. The iPROOF project is also part of the larger iFAB Tech Hub initiative led by the University of Illinois Champaign Urbana’s Integrated Bioprocessing Research Laboratory which was recently awarded $51 million in U.S. Economic Development Administration's Tech Hub Grant Funding to establish a world class precision fermentation hub in Central Illinois. For the full press release, view this link: https://lnkd.in/gehcQcqC If you are looking for fermentation capacity and would like more information about project iPROOF, view this page: synonym.bio/iproof #biomanufacturing #bioeconomy #fermentation #precisionfermentation #climatetech #sustainability

🚀 Exciting news for Bluestem Biosciences, Inc.! They have been awarded $273,910 by the National Science Foundation (NSF) under the National Science Foundation subagency. This funding will support their groundbreaking project on improving proton ATPase for the anaerobic biomanufacturing of organic acids. The broader impact includes rural revitalization, greenhouse gas emissions reduction, and domestic supply chain security. 🌱 🔬 The project aims to develop a bio-based production method to significantly reduce greenhouse gas emissions in the production of acrylates, a primary component in paints, coatings, plastics, and super-absorbent polymers. By modifying yeast microbes to produce chemicals as a byproduct of their growth, Bluestem Biosciences is tackling the challenge of energy-efficient export of these acids. This award reflects NSF's statutory mission and has been deemed worthy of support through evaluation using the foundation's intellectual merit and broader impacts review criteria. #SBIR #STTR 📅 This Small Business Innovation Research Program Phase I project will last for 12 months, starting on October 1, 2024, and ending on September 30, 2025. We can't wait to see the innovative solutions Bluestem Biosciences will bring to the table! #Innovation #Sustainability

We are on television today! Yesterday, a report for the ARD lunchtime program was filmed at b-ACTmatter and the Faculty of Chemistry. Dr. Christian Sonnendecker and Dr. Ronny Frank from the start-up team ESTER Biotech explain how they are planning the up-scaling of PET recycling with enzymes from laboratory scale to industrial application. The result is PET monomers that can be reused for production without the need for fossil fuels. #sustainable_chemistry, #University_of_Leipzig, #bACTmatter
