Scary how time flies! As the academic year transitions from Spring Break towards its culmination, nurturing and bolstering students' academic confidence becomes paramount. The strides made during this critical period not only fortify their present learning journey but also lay a robust foundation for the challenges ahead. Studies have shown that students who experience a boost in confidence towards the end of the academic year are more likely to maintain their academic momentum over the summer months, effectively combating the dreaded "summer slide." With consistent once-a-week enrichment activities tailored to their academic needs, students can not only retain but also build upon the knowledge and skills acquired throughout the year. This strategic approach not only mitigates the regression often observed during the summer break but also propels students towards a successful start in the forthcoming academic school year.

🧠✨ Mind Shapes Reality ✨🧠 Schools are in the business of cultivating minds— and yet I’ve watched schools struggle with polarization and polemics — where minds are in opposition as opposed to being in dialogue. 🗣️ Fear has taken over, and rather than (to paraphrase Emerson), let foolish consistency become the hobgoblin of our minds — it’s time to shake things up with Brain Science. 🧠🔬 I’m hyped to share that my recent conversation with Kate Sheppard of See Change on this topic just been featured in the summer edition of NAIS (National Association of Independent Schools) magazine, on page 101! 🔥 We had an incredible discussion about brain science and the transformative power of holding the paradox and fostering meaningful dialogue in our schools. 🏫💬 These insights are game-changers for how we approach education, helping us create environments where students and educators can thrive amidst complexity and diverse perspectives. 🎯 This isn’t theoretical— at Dunn School we used a methodology informed by this and Moral Courage to dive into real dialogue post October 7th, and our community became richer for the perspectives and humanity shared. 🤝 This is a must-read for anyone truly passionate about revolutionizing education and making our schools a place where curiosity and dialogue flourish. 📚💡 Grab your copy of NAIS magazine and dive into our conversation! 🗞️ #BrainScience #EducationalInnovation #DialogueInSchools #NAIS #SeeChangeConsulting 🌍✨ Let's make change happen, together! ✨🌍

Redirect a % of your profits to real People & Projects 🌾 Progressive Education + Culture = Future of Business
I'm grateful for mutually symbiotic relationships here on LinkedIn. Where curiosity of emerging regenerative business models based in relationships can transpire through a willingness of openness and sharing in new ways of thinking and creating. Thanks here to Germain Briand for your authentic curiosity and openness. Relationships, authenticity, selflessness and paying it forward in creative, non-traditional ways (like this video that myself & Dr Nicolene shot and produced back in the height of the global scam....uhhh pandemic) come first in a regenerative business paradigm. Let's co-create and take simple, efficient actions.
Wow....such a beautiful and precious video and message! I truly resonate with this and will put my work and energy towards making these ideas a reality. Thanks so much Dr Nicolene and Peter Philips for your inspirational contribution to the world of education 🙏🏽

Lately, I've been deeply contemplating the profound intersection of life philosophy and education—a topic close to my heart through my work at Makkala Jagriti and my studies at Azim Premji University. These reflections have sparked a desire to open up a dialogue here, where I can share my thoughts and learn from yours. In today's rapidly evolving world, education is not just about imparting knowledge but also about shaping well-rounded individuals who can navigate life's complexities. By integrating life philosophies into our education system, we can cultivate critical thinking, emotional intelligence, and a deeper understanding of ourselves and the world around us. Life philosophies provide frameworks for understanding our existence, values, and purpose. When woven into the fabric of education, these philosophies help students develop a holistic perspective, foster resilience, and inspire a lifelong love for learning. This integration encourages educators and learners to transcend traditional academic boundaries, nurturing both intellectual and personal growth. In the coming posts, I'll delve into various philosophies—from holistic education to emotional intelligence, constructivism to mindfulness—and examine their practical applications in educational settings. These reflections are meant not just to inform but to ignite conversations that can enrich our collective understanding. Join me in exploring how these philosophies can transform education and empower learners to navigate life with resilience and compassion. Your perspectives and experiences are invaluable. Let's start a conversation that goes beyond theory—let's envision a future where education embraces diverse philosophies for the betterment of all.

Attendance Anxiety—Living on the Edge ⏰ At Christ, attendance is more than just showing up—it’s survival. With that 85% requirement hanging over our heads, every missed class feels like a step closer to academic doom. Forgot to set your alarm? Traffic got the best of you? Guess what—you’re now in the danger zone. 🚦 The real stress kicks in when you’re doing the math (ironically, in your head) to figure out just how many more classes you can afford to miss. Suddenly, every sick day feels like a gamble, and every “mass bunk” plan gets a side-eye from the more cautious among us. The worst part? That awkward moment when you realize you’re 0.5% below the threshold and begging the universe (or your professor) for a break. 🙏 It’s like playing a never-ending game of “How close can I get to the edge without falling off?” And let’s be real, the anxiety is real! Who else is living life on the edge of that 85%? Drop your attendance survival tips below! #AttendancePanic #ChristUniversity #LivingOnTheEdge #CollegeLife

It’s back to school season- here are habits we need to break at students: -checking your phone every two seconds when studying ( I SEE YOU)👀 -asking people how a test went after finishing an exam ( leave them aloneee) -studying around friends you know will distract you -not doing your homework quickly or properly -staying up till 2 am (you claim to love sleep but you are not getting enough of it….?)🫠 -not asking for help during lessons(i.e suffering in silence) -lack of reflection after test results -not using active recall+spaced repetition (testing yourself in spaced periods over a long time) -thinking after mocks or a big test it’s too late to make an academic comeback💪🏽 Let’s make this academic year a better year and leave these habits behind us. What habits are you working on this year?
