In fact, just $12 gets a state ID in the hands of someone looking to end their homelessness! At Homeless ID Project, we see the impact of every donation firsthand. Each dollar goes toward helping someone take that critical first step toward stability and independence. Want to make a difference? Your donation can help us continue this life-changing work. 🌻 Introducing the Welcome Home Foundation, Inc. 🌻 We’re excited to announce the launch of the Welcome Home Foundation, Inc., a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting the unhoused community in New Jersey. Our mission is to provide comprehensive support and effective housing solutions for individuals and families in need. We focus on three key pillars: 🏡 Redefine Home At the Welcome Home Foundation, we believe that home is more than just a place—it’s a feeling of safety, dignity, and belonging. By bridging the gap between the unhoused community and property owners, we create sustainable housing opportunities that truly feel like home. 🤝 Reimagine Support We know that lasting change requires more than just shelter. That’s why we partner with community organizations, service providers, and volunteers to build a robust support network that uplifts and empowers our clients. By listening to their stories and needs, we ensure our programs are effective and meaningful. 💡 Rediscover You Every individual has unique strengths and potential. Our goal is to help our clients tap into these qualities, offering resources and encouragement as they rebuild their lives and secure a brighter, more stable future. We’re starting this journey rooted in faith and driven by our core values and commitment to making a difference. Guided by the motto, “It Takes a Village,” our focus is on increasing the housing supply by opening the lines of communication between property owners and the unhoused community. We advocate for the unhoused and work to address the root causes of homelessness through long-term solutions, including proactive prevention strategies, to help create a supportive and sustainable path to housing stability. You can now donate to ELFHCC in the #OneDay fundraiser! Join us in making a difference and supporting our community. Every contribution counts! SHARE if you are participating to spread the word. 🔗 Link to participate: https://lnkd.in/edqYwbHz 🗓 Donations are accepted until August 6 #Fundraiser #SupportCommunity #DonateNow #Pittsburgh About #oneday: Organized by The Pittsburgh Foundation. The #ONEDAY Critical Needs Alert helps our entire community support over 200+ nonprofits in Allegheny and Westmoreland counties that serve vulnerable populations. Far too many people — especially those who are Black, indigenous and people of color (BIPOC) — are unable to meet their basic needs due to limited access to resources and opportunities that would help them thrive. For example, one-in-five Pittsburghers is food insecure, and shortages of affordable housing and child care contribute to housing and family instability. When individuals and families can meet their basic needs, they experience less stress and anxiety, which supports overall well-being, provides stability and empowers them to lead healthier, more fulfilling lives. Your donations will benefit organizations and nonprofits supplying basic needs services. You will help people facing challenges with child care, mental and physical health care, job insecurity, food insecurity, eviction and threats to housing.

Not sure where to donate this year? As someone who has experienced being temporarily un-housed and someone who works with those who are temporarily housed, may I suggest donating to Family Promise of Sussex County, NJ? I have worked directly with them and know that the donations go directly to help families. Thank you in advance for even reading this post from Chris Butto, Executive Director. ------------------------ Give the Gift of Home! Your commitment to helping individuals and families experiencing a housing crisis in our community is sincerely appreciated. Because of your and other donors' generosity and support, Sussex County saw a 33% decrease in homelessness from 2023 to 2024! Your contribution is part of an ongoing effort to make a lasting impact on our community. Although we've made significant progress, there is more work to be done: 1 in 3 individuals experiencing homelessness in Sussex County is a child under the age of 18. 1 in 5 un-sheltered individuals have been experiencing homelessness for over a year. 1 in 3 individuals experiencing homelessness reported having at least one disability. These statistics underscore the ongoing need for our work. Your contribution, big or small, is more than just a donation; it's a life-changing gift. Give the Gift of Home! Your generosity can make a monumental difference in the lives of struggling families. Imagine a mother who can tuck her children into their beds in a safe, warm home because of your donation. Envision one of our nation's heroes having a safe place to rest his head at night, all because of your support. Will you stand with us once again and renew your commitment to these families? Your donation is not just a gift; it's a promise of home, hope, and new beginnings. Thank you for your continued support and being a beacon of light in our community. Give the Gift of Home! With gratitude, Chris Butto Executive Director P.S. Remember, when you give, you're not just changing lives; you're setting an entire family on a path to a better, self-sufficient future. Your donation is their promise. Don't wait; donate today and join their journey to a brighter future. #donation #homelessness #unhoused https://lnkd.in/eNZQ-FNi

October 6, 2024 is the NYC Chapter Out of Darkness Walk. It will start the NYC Seaport Pier 16 & 17 in the Seaport District. The event opens at 10AM. The walk starts at 11:30AM Many many of you helped last year with donations to my fund raising. I'm asking again if you can help prevent a suicide and support research into suicide. Please donate what you can. Did you know? The construction industry has one of the highest suicide rates among professions — with the rate among male construction workers 75% higher than men in the general population. 6,000 construction workers died by suicide in 2022 and increase from 2021.
