Hydrogen service valves are a crucial component in the safe and efficient operation of hydrogen systems. They are designed to control the flow of hydrogen gas in various applications, including hydrogen fuel cell vehicles, hydrogen production and storage, and semiconductor manufacturing. These valves must meet stringent safety and performance requirements due to the unique properties of hydrogen, such as its flammability and reactivity. Key considerations for selecting hydrogen service valves include pressure rating, temperature range, flow capacity, and compatibility with the specific hydrogen application. As a member of CEN/TC 69/WG 19 'Valves for hydrogen applications and network' I am contributing to the preparation of a EN standard about valves for hydrogen service. Understanding the Mass and Energy Balance Consider a batch reactor where a simple reaction A→B takes place.
