Yes, it's #FIA time 🎉 🎉. The #FarnboroughInternationalAirshow is the premier biennial event (22.-26.07.) in the #aerospace calendar - a platform where the latest #innovations and advancements in #commercial and #defence aviation & space are displayed ✈ 🚁 🛰. For us at Airbus Defence and Space, FIA is not just a showcase, but a driver for the future of modern military aircraft and our contributions to #connectivity and #digitaltransformation in the industry. We wanted to impress you with a dazzling #PléiadesNeo satellite image of the FIA-grounds, but the moody English weather made it impossible. Instead, enjoy this oldie but goldie #PNeo picture of FIA 2022 from our archives 📸 🛰. ❗ 3 reasons why FIA can't be missed: 1️⃣ Networking Opportunities: The event brings together global leaders, decision-makers, customers, and key industry stakeholders, offering opportunities for exchange, collaboration and partnership. 2️⃣ Showcasing Innovations: We will demonstrate our cutting-edge technologies, which enhance connectivity and enable seamless communication and data transfer in even the most challenging multi-domain environments. 3️⃣ Driving Digital Transformation: Our presence reinforces our commitment to leading the digital evolution in defence and commercial aerospace, ensuring our customers and partners benefit from the latest advancements in connectivity solutions. Come by, visit our various Airbus stands and see the future of aerospace up close and personal. #ConnectedIntelligence #DefenceMatters #DigitalTransformation #FIA2024 #PléiadesNeo

Next week's Singapore Airshow has a few anticipated highlights: Embraer's transport C-390 will be on static display. Following a successful year of orders in 2023, including South Korea, the OEM is positioning the medium airlifter as well suited to the APAC region. COMAC is sending a large contingent of two C919 narrow-body and three ARJ21 regional jets, with the C919 to fly its first international display. The Chinese C919, anA320-sized airliner, is aiming for a fifth of the global narrowbody market and a third of the Chinese market by 2035. This year's biennial airshow has the added backdrop of the maturing AUKUS alliance, contrasted against the first expected appearance of a Chinese military aircraft, the Changhe Z-10 attack helicopter, at an international air show. Boeing are somewhat conspicuous in their absence, with no aircraft flying or on static display. Airbus will be flying their A350-1000, with an A330neo and A400M on static. Business aviation will see a heavy presence in the mid-size range, with Dassault Aviation's 6X making its Singaporean debut after achieving certification last year, and BOMBARDIER, Embraer, Gulfstream Aerospace, HondaJet, Pilatus Aircraft Ltd, and Textron Aviation bringing a slew of jets. Parallel to the airshow is the Singapore Aerospace Technology and Engineering Conference (SATEC) 2024, a joint forum between the Republic of Singapore Air Force and the Singapore Institute of Aerospace Engineers (SIAE) with a focus on key developments and advancements in aerospace technology and engineering. See you in the Lion City. #aviation #aerospace #airpower #singaporeairshow

This photo, from a booklet of “Concorde Facts” highlights some of the advantages of Concorde. ✈️ This graph comparing a flight to the US on Concorde and a flight to the US in a subsonic jet shows how the difference in flight time actually splits up into in-flight activity for the passenger. 📸BAE Systems

Did anybody manage to get over to Southport for the airshow this weekend? Anybody going to Farnborough? What about RIAT? Our CEO Jerrod Hartley has featured in the Aerospace Magazine Farnborough Edition, and it's well worth a read if you have a bit of time, and although he won't be in personal attendance at Farnborough, he will be down in Fairford for the Royal International Air Tattoo (RIAT 2024) at the end of the week. https://lnkd.in/ek-UQhJK An airshow is a great opportunity to stand back and appreciate why we do what we do. Seeing these great machines in action is impressive, but also an opportunity for reflection. It wasn't really that long ago since Wilbur and Orville Wright created the first successful heavier than air flying machine, the Wright Flyer, in 1903, where it achieved a powered flight of 59 seconds covering a distance of 259 metres. It's incredible how far we've come in a relatively short space of time, with modern aircraft with incredible safety and performance profiles. Take the Eurofighter Typhoon for example, which entered service way back in 2003, with some mightily impressive stats: Top speed - Mach 2.0 (approx. 1,550 mph) Ceiling - 55,000 feet Climb Rate - 0 to 36,000 feet in under 90 seconds Acceleration - subsonic to Mach 1.5 in under 30 seconds Thrust - 40,000 lb (equivalent to the weight of over 13 VW Golfs) So, here's to all the hard work, dedication, creative thinking, and human ingenuity that have driven our progress over the past several hundred years. Let's also toast to the future, where we will continue to push boundaries and overcome new challenges with the same dedication and vigour. While the challenges of the future may differ from those of the past, our approach remains steadfast and committed to innovation and excellence. What's your favourite aircraft and why?

The Concorde was unique in all of her aspects, On ground handling, TakeOff handling, Cruising, Approach and Landing handling. Here, AirFrance's Concorde is on final approach- the touchdown phase. Look out for the ANGLE OF ATTACK as the pilot flying executes the flare. Why was the Angle of Attack super high? Let's enlighten each other the flight parameters of the Concorde and the delta wing shape effect...Off to the comments section or shall we??

When I read the news few days ago that Airbus C295 has achieved a remarkable 300 orders, it was heartwarming. Not just for the milestone achievement, this remarkable figure also celebrates the success of the Spanish and European aerospace industry as a whole. The C295 is designed and assembled in my home country Spain, its versatility, cost-effectiveness, and unparalleled reliability has undoubtedly catapulted its global success story. With 41 operators from 37 countries, the C295 is the indisputable leader across Europe, the Americas, Africa, and Asia. Among them, India stands as the largest customer, ordering 56 aircrafts. The best part? 19 of these operators have placed repeat orders, which demonstrates the aircraft's exceptional performance and reliability. C295 is the outcome of Construcciones Aeronáuticas (C.A.S.A.)’s vision, when they decided to develop a slightly larger aircraft with 50 percent more capabilities. The Spanish Air and Space Force were its maiden customer in 1997. Since then, it has continued to fly high, reshaping the aviation landscape. Indeed, C295 is a symbol of perseverance and excellence. A symbol of our Industry. This week celebrating the Aerospace & Defense Meetings (ADM) congress in Sevilla. Cheers to @Airbus C295 and the countless adventures that lie ahead! #Airbus #Aviation
