I was thinking about this for a while. Should I finally write a post. I'm not really much of a writer, not my cup of tea. Then again I have principles that I have to follow so, I'll try to keep it short. I quit Vincit last week and will start at Resistomap tomorrow. I'm super excited, but that's not really the point of the post, there is enough of this kind of buzz in businessworld and linkedin ;). This is my review of my time at Vincit. This happens because I'm trying to be more open and transparent of myself and also generally as I believe that to be a proper path in life for me. I left Vincit because it was not the same company it was when I joined it. It was honestly the best managed company I have ever been at. There are multiple people to thank for that, but just gonna mention that Teemu Uotila was a big part of my experience, when he was in charge of Helsinki city center office, when I joined Vincit. Vincit (6+ years) together with 5 years of psychoanalyzes really changed me. I understand what is good leadership and how to accept people as they are better, let's leave the long list (especially related to therapy) to those 2. Unfortunately Vincit didn't have these traits anymore strongly and I couldn't bear to watch anymore how the best company I have been in, just crumbles around me. I'm not saying Vincit is a bad place to be, they kept many important aspects still, but the employee-centric approach is gone, so nothing special to say about it either anymore. Yet another ok IT-company. There are still great people in Vincit, but in every IT company I've been in, I've had great colleagues. The management in Vincit was outstanding and I really felt I was making a better work life and through that I was meaningful. Now I felt I was making a worse society by engaging with a company that makes the employee experience worse for the future. So with a pain of the old memories (even though most of my colleagues had already left) I said goodbye to the rest and decided to head towards something more meaningful.
